Big sound from very compact unit.
Valio 06.08.2017
I bought pair of those and use them as a Front Of House (FOH) speakers, sometimes with and sometimes without a sub. In small bars with 100 people I'll use only those two because they have enough bass for their size, and they can go very loud without clipping. So far I've never managed to make them clip or activate the protection. They run very cool even after a hard night, they are only slightly warm on touch at the back panel.

For larger venues, I'll add a sub and select the HPF on 100hz from the back panel. They sound very transparent and mild throughout the entire frequency range, without being unpleasantly piercing, even when you crank them up high.
They have 2 channel mixer at the back and many knobs and switches that'll help you shape their sound the way you like it. In addition, they weigh only 10kg, which makes them very easy to lift on the speaker stand.

Pros:
Lightweight only 10kg
129db
Very flat response and decent bass response on low to mid volumes.
Plenty of I/O
FIR-X Tuning grade DSP.

Cons:
Would have been even better if there was a side handle, at least on one of the sides. The plastic is a bit slippery, and lacks grip when lift them on speaker stands.

Resume:
Wonderfully tuned compact speaker that performs equally good on small or fairly large venues without any worries. It is slightly less powerful than the more expensive DXR10, put in a much lighter box, but both sound practically the same. Provides a lot of bang for your buck!

Great ''little'' speaker !!

I use it for small parties , around 50-70 people . I put in front of it a DBX go box and i'm ready to go . People don't believe their ears as to how loud and how low this thing goes and they are searching for hidden subs . Very easy to carry as its not heavy . Quality product from Yamaha . Lots of connection options in the back ! 5 stars highly recommended if you are a mobile DJ .

Awesome little speakers
Anonymous 08.01.2017
I use these for stage monitors, small PAs and parties.

They are Loud! The bass that comes out of them is awesome. The sound is well balanced and full - not harsh like some cheaper small powered speakers.

The eq processing is good with 3 modes foh/off/monitor and the variety of inputs and mixer is really useful.

They are really power efficient. One speaker on at a reasonable volume for background music is pulling around 15 watts.

They have really good inbuilt protection - I had a bass player make some nasty spikes (yes i know i need a compressor) and had turned his monitor up too much. The speaker just stopped working, then started again when I turned it off and on again after the gig.

Highly Recommended at £300

Perfect sound and good quality

The sound and quality of speaker is very good
There are cheaper speakers that can have higher sounds. But for me the stability and quality of speakers are very important. Running them on very noisy environment with a lot of EMI on power line without any issue.
Very happy with purchase
