Wireless connectivity for microphones

The XVive U3 Microphone Wireless System is a digital wireless solution for dynamic microphones that comprises a U3 receiver and a U3 transmitter with XLR connections. The U3 system operates at radio frequencies between 2402MHz and 2458MHz in the 2.4GHz ISM band, which can be used for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other wireless devices without registration and free of charge worldwide. This professional microphone wireless system excels with true diversity technology, six freely selectable radio channels, and a high-quality sound thanks to 24-bit/48kHz conversion, a dynamic range of 110dB, and a very wide frequency response. A USB Y-cable that allows the transmitter and receiver units to be charged at the same time using a 5V adapter is also included in the scope of delivery.

High signal stability

The XVive U3 Microphone Wireless System converts all types of dynamic microphones – or even battery-operated condenser microphones in the case of the U3C variant – into a handy wireless tool by enabling reliable audio transmission to the XLR microphone input on a mixing console, audio recorder, or portable PA system without the constraints of cables. The U3 system additionally features a Line mode that allows line-level signals to be transmitted in the same way. The U3 receiver comprises two antennae for true diversity reception, which ensures high signal stability even under difficult operating conditions. The XVive U3 Microphone Wireless System offers up to five hours of battery operation, and the transmitter and receiver units are fully charged in just two hours.

Wireless freedom for every performance

The XVive U3 Microphone Wireless System offers wireless freedom not only for singers and speakers who use a handheld dynamic microphone but also for instrumentalists who require a dynamic clip-on microphone to capture the sound of their instrument, e.g. a saxophone or trumpet, that will also allow them to move around freely during their performance without being tethered by a cable. What is more, two U3 systems can be used to establish a wireless connection between the outputs of a mixing console and the inputs of active speakers. The range of products offered by XVive also includes the U3D Dual Wireless System for stereo and dual mono PA systems.

About XVive Audio

Xvive Audio officially entered the market in 2012 with its compact U2 wireless guitar system. Since then, the company has also been involved in the development of wireless microphone technology. Its catalogue also includes effects pedals, such as the Signature Series, which were developed in partnership with guitarist Thomas Blug. The products are designed by an American team, based in Pasadena, California, which is composed of musicians and engineers and draws on decades of professional experience. Its lead designer, Howard Davies, was previously employed at Electro Harmonix and Pigtronix, among others. Xvive Audio's goal is to create products that deliver exceptional sound and build quality, while remaining affordable for any musician.

Flexible plug-and-play wireless system

To set up the XVive U3 Microphone Wireless System, users simply plug the U3 transmitter into the dynamic mic's XLR output and the U3 receiver into the mixer's XLR input, activate the system using the power switches, and select the same radio channel on both units. The U3 transmitter allows the audio signal to be sent to several U3 receivers simultaneously if the same radio channel is used, which means that several XVive U3 systems can be operated in parallel without causing interference using either one of the six freely selectable channels.

Great piece of kit... but...
SnippyCanto 01.07.2023
I was so impressed when I bought my first set.
Great sound and ease of use.
Now after a few years..
Bad points
1. The button, that releases it from the microphone, has broken and I have to use electrical tape to hold it in place. Does not look very professional.
2. Annoying not being able to see the battery level.
3. I occasionally get interference and the signal pops and cuts out for a second or two. Again does not look or sound very professional. This did not happen when I first got the set. I think the 2.4ghz frequency is so busy nowadays.
Good Points
1. Very easy to use and great sound quality.
2. The mute button works without an audible 'pop'
3. When attached to a microphone, and laid on a flat surface, the set is in full connection with the surface. This alleviates any stress put on the connection to the microphone. Also the shape means it does not roll on a flat surface. This might sound trivial, but I really appreciate it.
I bought another set when the button broke so I have one as a back up.
Glad I did, as the battery has caught me out on occasion.

SR
delay
Serj Rowan 24.02.2020
Very obvious big delay if using as a mic for singer even within a meter from the receiver.

Turn-on slide on the receiver is placed on a side which you will usually find blocked if plugged in some audio interface not in the first (left) input.

Build quality is good.
Signal itself is also good.
Will measure delay time and will post.
