Warbruton 9 backbore is big and bright sounding with a huge cutting spread tone. I used one in an 8310Z to open up the trumpet and make it sound better (it was a little dark to my ears). This is the start of the larger backbore sizes.

For a larger backbore gives a focused sound. In my opinion could be easily used in a variety of playing situations as long as you can provide sufficient air support for the larger dimensions.
