Excellent software, excellent value

I upgraded from SD2.0 to EZD3, and I couldn't be happier. I mainly use EZD for triggering the sounds on my Alesis Strike Pro and for adding drum tracks to tracks I'm producing via midi or live performance recording. EZD sounds a lot better 'out of the box' than SD2 did. I know the superior drummer line is more powerful than EZD3, but for my use case it's perfect. I run it in Ableton Live 12 Suite on Windows 10 x64 and it has no hiccups.

I rate it four stars on features just because some of the expansions can be a much worse 'value' than their SDX counterparts. For instance, the Death Metal EZX contains just 2 of 9 kits from the Death and Darkness SDX, but at full retail it's nearly half the price of the SDX.

There are sales on the EZX though, and many EZX packs include 4+ kits, so your experience may vary depending on the genre of expansion packs you're seeking.
