Best strings imho!
Keepcalmandplaybass 11.06.2019
Low tension, clarity, versatility, good looking and long lasting - what more is there to say? Yes, low tension may take some getting used to, but once you do, other strings seem like unnecessarily hard work. From Palladino fretless slides and harmonics to Iron Maiden gallops these strings suit them all. the 5 string set is outstanding also.

My favourite strings
Anonymous 12.07.2014
I use thomastik jazz flats whenever possible as I prefer the feel of low tension strings. I bought a set of JF 345 with my Epiphone Thunderbird Pro-v and they're still going strong over three years later. Excellent even-toned strings

Upright bass tone
Cyver 08.05.2024
I have bought the Thomastik strings along with Labella flat wounds and found the Thomastik the richest in tone. I've tried Ernie Ball flat wounds (that sounded tinny) and DR round wounds, and found the Thomastik the best by far with regards to tone in my mind.

I play a Fender P-Bass, and the tone I get has an element of an woody upright bass, which I'm not sure how they get that with theses strings but its amazing.
The feel is a bit rougher than the LaBella flat wounds. I prefer it like this to have a bit of a texture instead of totally smooth strings. But its not as rough as round wounds.

The E-G strings are pretty light, and takes a bit of getting used to, but in conclusion I tried various strings for comparison after Thomastik and found nothing to the tone I could get with these strings. This will be my go to from now on.

Pa
very nice strings
Pablo aus B. 07.01.2015
They sound very good and are very confortable to play. They don't last that much thought, despite they are flatwounds (and they are supposed to last longer) after a while you can really notice the difference in the sound. Very recommended thought!
