Great, solid case
ChristofferP 26.01.2020
I decided to finally get a banjo, and since I move around a lot, sprung for a real case so I can take it on flights without worrying. This case is very solid, my impression is that it can take a lot of punishment while keeping the contents completely safe. A nice bonus is a separate padded foam strip inside to improve the fit for your particular banjo. The top and bottom of the insides is padded to protect your banjo from shocks. An inside pocket holds my tools, spare strings, fingerpicks, strap, and tuner, and still has loads of space to spare. The balance is good when carrying your banjo. One of the clasps locks with a key, for extra protection. Only downside is that the key is basic, so if someone is really determined to get into your case without your permission, they can - but then I think that's true of all luggage. This is a solid case and I recommend it!

CR
My Dean 6 string Banjo fits in there great!
Curtis R. 09.11.2019
Got myself a Dean Backwoods 6 string electro banjo to play a few folky tunes on, so i Needed a case to take it out gigging with. Fits really well in the case. There is a padding strip in the case, for smaller banjos too.

Only pros on this one, no cons. Works perfectly, plenty of space for my strap in the compartment plus a capo, plectrun, clip on tuner etc.

Can only speak on initial impressions, at this stage, but may update later after a year of use, or so.

Great value for money.

Sturdy Knock-Proof Banjo Case
Anonymous 24.01.2017
This Thomann RC10610 B/SB Banjo case is fitted with 5 clasps and 2 hinges. One of the clasps has a lock and 2 keys are provided. There are 3 large protruding metal studs on the base of the case and 4 studs on the round of the case to protect it while on the floor. This case is tough enough to withstand routine baggage handling on public transport/airlines etc. The dimpled black finish is completed with stitching around the top/lid. Inside there is luxurious black faux velvet styled foam internal padding including full depth padding on the interior to a thickness of 2.5cm. The case also has padding for above and below the instrument storage space and comes with a padded foam board as an extra shock absorber for banjos without resonators. There is a notch at the lower end to encase the banjo neck and a pull up lid forward to this reveals a padded boxed area where truss rod allen keys, spare strings, banjo skin tension tools, tuners and possibly folded copies or small booklets containing music/chord books etc could be stored. The case comes into its own once you have the full weight of the banjo inside and begin to carry your instrument. The centre of gravity is set so that you will not be over fatigued in carrying your instrument to play at venues or to lessons/family and friends' houses. The case also has three bands connecting the lid and underside. Don't forget to keep your spare key separate so that it is available for emergency access. This is a handsome case at a competitive price and is robust and gig ready. I would highly recommend this good looking banjo case to anyone looking to protect their banjo and give it some security. A case with a lock on it is a good way of making sure that no-one plays your instrument without your permission. The clasps are of high quality and haven't tarnished over time. A great purchase from Thomann! Thanks.

DV
Very top heavy for use as a bouzouki case
Danny Vandevelde 19.02.2022
I have bought this as a HSC for an Thomann Irish concert Bouzouki. The case is very well built and very sturdy. It is also very stable standing up.

The bouzouki fits perfectly inside, though I have some trouble fitting the strap without removing it from the instrument.

The case is obviously built for use with a banjo. With the bouzouki inside, it feels very top heavy and difficult to handle and carry.

Otherwise a very good product!

Highly recommended.

Bought this case for my Harley Benton BJ-65Pro 6 String Banjo and it fits perfectly. Building quality looks very good, and the inside has a nice box for tools and extra strings and is very well padded.

A
Reliable budget option.
Anonymous 23.01.2015
I bought this case 2 years ago, it came with a banjo I bought as part of a creative bundle. Since, I have used it to carry my banjo around, put it in a car and given it a mediocre amount of abuse. I have not had a screw come loose or a strap come anywhere near breaking. If they would, I think it'd be easy to fix. This thing is pretty durable - if you or a guest were to sit on it by accident, with the banjo inside, it wouldn't break. Pretty sure you could outright stand on it and it would just dent the surface a little, however, I don't recommend you do. If you spend a lot of time on the road and don't want a flashy, really expensive looking banjo case to show off when you come up on stage, then this is a good budget solution for the traveler's needs.
The fur inside is rather thick and nice to the touch, so the instrument laying inside feels in good hands. A set of tiny keys come with the case, so you can lock the instrument inside. There is also a compartment where you can keep spare strings and misc. items, about 15x8cm large. I keep wrenches and anything banjo related in there, pretty convenient.
Well worth the money & functional!

J
Strong & professional.
Jollyhollie 18.05.2013
This case is built of a high standard and strong,
I was impressed with the strength of it for example:
On my way to A gig I slipped on the ice and landed
full force all my weight on the middle of this case
the instrument was fine and the case was completely
fine not one mark on it.
the inside of the case is of a great standard
I found the useful compartment of thoughtful design and practical
for keeping spare strings and various plectrums inside the case.
great padding inside strong design and a good weight
great case for keeping your instrument safe and sound.

Doesn't fit the harley benton 5string banjo 100%. The rest for the neck is a bit high.

Ok for the price
Anonymous 30.08.2015
Got this for my RK R-36 and the size isn't exactly right for my banjo. The case is a bit too deep so my instrument sometimes shifts inside the case when I carry it around. That's obviously what you can expect from a universal case though.

The sides of the case doesn't seem strong or rigid enough for a banjo with a heavy brass tone ring. When I lift it, the side where the handle is attached deflects a bit and I doesn't feel very secure. I've also noticed that sometimes one of the clasps has opened in transport, maybe because of the structural weakness of the sides.

On the plus side, the little compartment for strings and stuff is quite spacious compared to some other cases I've seen.

The case is ok for the price. It might also fit your banjo better than mine.
