Thomann Powercord UK - C5
I purchased the Yamaha THR10C from Thomann and as they are a German company the amp is supplied as a European specification package.
I am in the United Kingdom.
The European specification package differs from a UK package only in that it is supplied with a European spec powercord, the rest of the package is identical.
The mains electric supply in Germany is 230V 50Hz which is the same as the supply in the United Kingdom (so the Yamaha THR power supply unit is the same) but the sockets outlets used are different so i required a different powercord.
Thomann kindly included an additional UK spec powercord at no extra charge, it's a 1.8m long black cable fitted with a moulded BS1363 fused plugtop which includes a 5A cartridge BS1363 fuse at one end and a cloverleaf IEC 320-C5 jack at the other.
In the past I would have simply removed the European plugtop and fitted a UK plugtop but now with portable appliance testing being a requirement in many places in the UK it's great to have a factory fitted plugtop on the lead to avoid problems.
It's also a much nicer solution than the "Thomann Adaptor Safety-Plug - UK" which they supply with some other items, it's simply attaches to the European plug with a couple if screws holding it in place but it's a rather bulky and ugly solution.
This lead is great, well done Thomann.

i was sent this free of charge when I purchased my Vox VT40 amp.
Thanks.
I like a company that is organised and realised I would need a 3 point plug in Ireland and not a Euro style plug.
Well done, lads.

Cioks DC 10
Damian692 09.01.2016
Like many guitarists I have a love affair with effects pedals. While I've actually managed to come up with a pedalboard that I'm almost happy with but there were a few problems with the cheap power supply I was using. It could'nt supply the current needed by some of the newer pedals I had acquired and at times it seemed to add noise to my signal ,particularly at gig volume. So I decided it was time to find a power source that could minimise noise and could power my hungry pedals. There are so many to choose from but after some research I decided to go for the cioks dc10.
The cioks dc10 is a very solid strongly constructed box and is'nt too big . The main advantage is that it is very flexible , there are a set of dip switches that allow voltages etc to be changed on some of the outlets.Handy if I get anything interesting to try out.
The instructions for how to set the dip switches are printed on the bottom of the power supply so you can see them as you are changing the dip switch settings . I've a Boss dd500 and a strymon mobius as well as a tuner, king of tone clone, wampler compressor, joyo crunchbox deluxe, and a green rhino running comfortably. the drives are noticeably quieter at gain than before.
Why did'nt I get one before ?

Got it free with my Microfreak :D

Does what it is supposed to. High quality, thick rubber, and it came free with my Microfreak so it would work with an Irish plug socket.

It's hard to get enthused about a power cord, but this one is just fine :-)
indrax 15.03.2022
It's a cord, it seems well constructed - solid and rugged-looking. It does an excellent job of conducting electricity to my new MPC Live II and so far I have no regrets about buying it. If you need such a cord I can whole-heartedly recommend this one!
