Sturdy and affordable case
Michael2564 19.02.2014
It is an expensive past-time trying to find a good guitar case for a wider bodied guitar of significant value, which is why I decided to give the thomann case a shot. They offer a 14 day no-questions-asked satisfaction guarantee, which they have upheld for colleagues and I believe their service second to none.

This case arrived and i was surprised at how sturdy and weighty it was. I was expecting a plasticy case which may serve my purpose, but no, faux leather, full wooden construction, synthetic fur inside, sturdy handle, plenty of clasps and locks, strong hinges.

If you need a case for a wider electric, or a semi acoustic thinline you would spend many times this to better this case.

As per usual thomann delivery times were outstanding!

Pros:
Finish
Sturdy construction
Good handle
Good clasps
Locking clasp
Good sturdy hinges
Nice protective inside with removable pillow-type affair at the body end to accomodate larger guitars.

Cons:
A little weighty (which is really a good thing. It is made very very well.)
I personally would like more removable pillow cushion type pieces to help pack the guitar. It is of no consequence, as I made some for my case with little hassle.

I use this case to demo my hand-built guitars and as such need something very sturdy. I cannot possibly have the time and money I invested in these instruments go to waste on a soft case. And yes, the case has fallen with one of my heavy jazz guitars in it and there was no damage sustained.

Very nice. Good enough for me. But could be improved.
Ivke 17.10.2021
I am an intermediate guitarist, playing mostly for fan, at home.

I have bought this guitar case to keep my new HB-35 in.

Good:
The order arrived reasonably quickly and in good condition.

The case is really pretty, with stitching detail and soft lining that makes it look a little more luxurious than some other cases.

It is good enough for what I need.
Mostly to protect my guitar at home and for short rides by car.

Fitting:
My Harley Benton HB-35 guitar (i.e. semi hollow, 335 look-alike) fits nicely inside the case. (Maybe it could be fitted a little more snuggly but it is ok. Perhaps some additional cushions could be provided with the case).

Verdsatility:
I also tried it for my Squier Tele, and it fits in too. But it fits more loosely because of the thinner body. Because of that a Strat or Tele would probably need more cushioning.
I understand that the case was not intended for a Tele, but in case of need it can be used.

Undecided:
I am not sure if the case would take a lot of wear and bumps and whether the buckles are strong enough for rougher handling, like airplane travel.

Could be better:
Is it possible that handle is not well centred on my guitar case?
When I carry the box on one side, the box hangs in such a way that it leans towards my leg and the bottom edge of the case tends to rub against the leg.
Admittedly, this could be due to the weight of the guitar and how it sits inside the box, Perhaps some adjustability of guitar's position could help.

Conclusion:
Overall I like this case, I am happy with it and will keep it.
But I will look to make some foam inserts to provide a little more cushioning for my guitars.

Av
Lots of potential, could use a bit of work.
Arno van Remoortel 03.09.2022
I got this to go along with the Harley Benton HB-35. The case definitely has the right groundwork, although on a few (easy fixable) things it could use a bit of work.

Pros:
-Price. It feels sturdy enough, like it can handle quite some abuse.
-Locks. Two of the hinges have a lock in them, this puts my mind at ease because I'm terrified of the case swinging open and my guitar flying out.
-Keys. It comes with two keys for the aforementioned locks, the keys look like tiny guitars. I love this.

Cons:
-Weight. The case is a bit on the heavier side, although not too bad.
-Fit and padding. This is my only real issue with it, the HB-35 is quite loose inside the case and while there is a slight amount of padding, there is none whatsoever in the headstock region.

Conclusion: I got some foam padding and padded around certain areas of the case, now the HB-35 fits splendidly. Added some extra padding around the headstock area. It's hard to justify spending more on a case now, with the added foam, it's unbeatable in its price point.

Tough, stong and looks the business
Michael8641 03.02.2016
I bought this case to use with a recently bought Epiphone Riviera with Bigsby tremolo tail piece. I did take a lot of time looking for a suitable case because the Bigsby stands proud of the guitar body and where it goes over the bottom end of the guitar it adds a few mm to the length of the guitar, Therefore I had to carefuly check the dimension of all te cases that claim to be suitable to Hollowbody guitars to ensure I didnt buy one too narrow or too short for my particular guitar. It may sound daft but originally I was measuring the depth of the guitar with the angled temolo arm up in the usable position ..and this made the depth very deep. The only cases I could find that would hold the guitar while in this state were for large Jumbo acoustics and it was obvious that the guitar would end up rattling about. Then as a bolt from the blue, I realised that if I rotated the arm downwards it actually sits flush with the tailpiece and so the choice of cases became much wider. This case has a padded plush interior and when you put the guitart away its like you are resting it in a lovely feather bed as a thank you for soundling so gorgeous. There is an interal storage compartment that sits under the neck to not only offer support to the nexk but gives you a place for lead, spare strings etc. The external latches are very secure and there are lots of them so you neednt be afraid of the case acidentally openning and your baby falling out. As usual Thomann delivery was speedy and trackable so I knew not to go out at the time slot provided.. and they were o time too. Another first class product from Thomann .. now my goto retailer for music gear.

Good quality product
Eadrian 27.04.2023
I recently purchased a guitar case and overall, I am quite satisfied with its quality. The case feels strong and durable, with good craftsmanship and attention to detail evident in its design. I'm confident that it will protect my guitar well during transportation.

However, I must admit that the case is a bit heavy, which can make it somewhat cumbersome to carry around. This might be an issue for some musicians who need to transport their instruments frequently, as it could lead to fatigue or discomfort over time.

Nonetheless, if you prioritise durability and sturdiness over weight, this guitar case is definitely worth considering. It strikes a good balance between protection and ease of use, and the heaviness is a small price to pay for the peace of mind that comes with knowing your instrument is well-protected.

This case is well built and sturdy, and the latches on it feel substantial and secure. The faux leather covering is generally of a good quality, although I have noticed a few scuffs appearing with use. In general though, this is a great case for occasional use. I wouldn't be thinking about going on a world tour with it, but for the money it would serve well for occasional gigs.
I bought this to use for an Aria TA-50 335-style guitar. I found that the case was a bit too long for the guitar, but I was able to solve this using a piece of foam tubing under the bottom strap button. Without doing this, the guitar would have rattled around a bit in the case. However, this would lead me to believe that this case should be big enough for almost any semi hollow guitar, and so is a safe bet if you're not sure of the exact dimensions of your instrument. It's fairly easy to fashion a solution to make a smaller guitar fit more snugly.
In summary, I would recommend this case as a great budget option for occasional gigging.

Expected better for the price
Sure, why not 09.04.2024
It does its job no problem, but for 100e, I was expecting better fit and finish. The surface is great (for now) but the clasps feel a bit flimsy, you have to jimmy it a bit to get it closed, no hinge on the inside cubby, just a flexible stitch.. also surprisingly heavy, but whether that's a plus or minus is up to you. Were it 50-60e, this would've been a clean 5 stars

Has had a fishy smell for over two years now
aarhus 20.01.2022
I bought this case a couple of years ago and when I got it there was a fishy smell which I took to be glue. I have since left the case open - I have tried air fresheners, Bicarb - nothing seems to work. I know that the case is cheap but I definitely would not buy another one. I must say that this is the first time I have ever had a complaint about anything I have ever bought from Thomann - it is a oity aboyt the quality of this item

Good quality but unlockable
Josh6 16.05.2022
This case is fine. It does the job it needs to, day to day. However, I cannot recommend it for anyone who travels. The latches have no place to attached a padlock for security. There are built-in locks in two of the latches , and Thomann were kind enough to send me a key, but I don't know why since the locks are cheap plastic that turn with my fingernail! No key required to open the case and remove it. A very insecure case for anyone checking their guitar into luggage while travelling. On this basis alone I cannot recommend it, since I travel often. Otherwise it is a good case.

Perfect fit for HB35+ , used for Air travel
Rafzputin 02.06.2022
I got this after I got the HB35+ as I wanted to make sure the guitar would fit snuggly, especially since I needed to travel long distance with it (with a layover, which meant possibility of rough handling). This is the case Thomann also suggests for the particular guitar.
The guitar arrived safe and sound and the case was not damaged in any way (I covered the case with bubble wrap and plastic wrap at the airport).
Considering the price, the case is very sturdy, although it doesnt have any TSA locks. I am very happy with the purchase and the guitar lays happily in it, considering the very hot climate I am currently in. I hope it lasts me a very long time.
