Why there are not more guitars like this astounds me! They are a very lite weight, comfortable to hold and play. They are well made, look good and I have not noticed any flaws in the first week of playing.
The sound port positioned on the side while unusual, provides a different aural experience, despite the thin body and lack of base it sounded quite nice. I also liked the 14th fret neck joint.
The neck was smooth and nicely finished frets were well trimmed and noting sharp. However, I've quite small hands so felt the 48mm wide nut a bit of a stretch at times
The factory setup was very low, more like a flamenco guitar than a classical setup with some fret buzz evident. There was also very little neck relief. The fret buzz was not really noticeable when playing softly, but was evident when looking for more volume from the guitar. That said, most guitars benefit from some setup work to suit individual preferences. I'm sure it could have been made better.
While I liked size, weight, shape and overall look, I reluctantly decided to return the Guitar, for three reasons;
1) the setup was very low (but could be fixed)
2) without a truss rod I wasn't sure the neck relief would be OK .
3) It wasn't the right guitar for me, I'd prefer a Cedar top, Truss rod & a Nut of 45 mm or less
I'd happily consider purchasing a Thomann guitar again....and the customer service team were very helpful when returning this product.
