Good Budget mics
Refractive 26.03.2022
Ridiculous bang for buck. I've been using them as a XY pair on acoustic guitar with great results. I haven't found them to be overly brittle or harsh.
One mic is quiet and the other has more self noise, not enough to make it unusable, but a bit annoying. They came with a mic bar, which is plastic and not the best, nice to have it included but worth buying a better one latter on. At this price it's well worth getting a pair to have around.

MD
Excellent value for money, matched stereo pair
MR Deano 19.12.2021
Purchased these to replace my Rode NT5 matched pair lost in transit, and Oktava SD pair also AWOL.. I found these to be comparable in performance and specs.
Excellent for room mics recording solo acoustic intruments and ensembles in large spaces.
A great feature is the -10db and 20db cut switchable and 75/150 low cut comes in handy for loud situations, and for X/Y axis recording can achive a perfect stereo image, or can be used individually to spot-mic.. With a pop -filter, these mics also work for close vocal, field record with a ZOOM.
Excellent for drum overheads in studio and live settings, and also the Steve Albini technique of laying the on the floor or flat surface off stands as room mics that will behave like boundry microphones.

At this price, shipping with T-Bar mount and a study solid alloy case and wind socks, this is an excellent solution for a stereo pair of very transparent small diaphragm condensers that sound great and can be used in many different situations in the field, studio and live and respond well to a little tube pre-amp on input.

Conclusion: Robust build, 9 out of 10 for quality and price.

e
Suprisingly good for it's price
eimink 05.03.2020
I've been using this set for capturing room audio for live streams and as ambience mics. Considering the price, they deliver excellent performance with low noise - I've previously rented out more expensive Shure and Rode microphones for the same purpose that have had more base noise than these. The build quality of the microphones is good but the holders and stereo bar that come with the set are made of plastic and don't feel very sturdy. Overall a great purchase for those who are on a budget.

P
Affordable drum overheads
PolarityMan 28.01.2014
I bought this T-bone set to use as drum overheads for an album project. In this role they have performed excellently. Considering the price point the sound quality and sensitivity is easily acceptable and the matched capsules didn't introduce any noticeable phase or stereo imagining problems.

Since the pair came in a sturdy carry case I have since thrown these into my main gig bag and have used them for recording practices and demo material for band use. Even used as a single stereo pair recording a whole band we got some great quality recordings. Even the bass reproduction was adequate which was a surprise for such cheap condensers.

Only thing I haven't really had success with is using to mic guitars, we experimented mixing a dynamic and the signal from one of these condensors but the sound from the condensor was quite brittle.

T
Really good for the price
TomAudio 28.02.2020
These microphone's honestly surprised me. They sound a lot better than a bunch of microphones in the same price range, and I would even dare to say they are better than a couple of microphones in the 'high budget' category. The switches are not very easy accessible which I found annoying at first since I damaged them while trying to switch them with a sharp object, but it's obviously a good feature because you really don't want it to be switched by accident. Overall really did exceed my expectations, and I would recommend buying a set.

T.Bone SC 140 Stereoset Microphones
MacLoud 22.01.2014
These mics are much better than I was expecting. Supplied in a decent metal case with plastic mounts and a stereo bar.
I was pleasantly supplied when these were used as drum kit overheads on a live gig.
I did not want to risk expensive mics in the environment that the gig was taking place in and these little chaps did a grand job.
Having tried them back in the studio environment they sounded surprisingly good on acoustic guitar, they were not noisy and did not need too much EQ to sound good 'in the mix'.
Great value, decent sound, they seem well made and the Thomann guarantee will look after you if they ever fail.

A
Good for most applications
Anonymous 09.05.2016
I was pleasantly surprised when these pics arrived. For starters the come in their own plastic and aluminium flight case which whilst probably not the sturdiest, keeps everything together and offers a moderate degree of protection. In the box one finds the mic pair together with their respective shock mounts a pair of foam windshields and a mic stand adapter.

The mics in themselves look well made, they have a nice weight when handled and feel solidly constructed. The shock mounts are a bit fiddly but the do the job well.

At work the pics have very little self noise compared to similar miss on the market and the -10/-20db pad together with the 75/150 Hz high pass filter built in the pics itself gives them a good degree of flexibility allowing to change things on the fly whilst setting up without having to go back and forth to the mixer or preamps which might be a little thing, but when working on your own could be a great timesaver.

I have used these pics for overheads on both voice and drums, I used them to capture impulse responses and ambience audio and have also used them to record acoustic guitars. In all cases they performed reliably well which is a pleasant surprised when one considers the price point.

All in all a good set of mics, with a handy case to carry them in, which makes them ideal to carry around with you as they are very flexible and can be used for numerous applications.
