The bass is toooo muddy
One Man Band 13.09.2020
Decided to try this mic on my acoustic guitar so I got the Ovid guitar bundle. The result is very disappointing - the bass is too muddy to my taste and needs way too much post adjustment to make it sit well in a mix.

I'm going to stick to using a large-diaphragm mic to record guitars.

Came open and without instructions. Noisy.
dalan 15.10.2019
The product came in an unsealed box and was open before, the crumpled manual has clear signs of been read before. Also, has no instructions on how to attach the mic to the instrument. As far as i can tell, with the little clips it included it seems impossible to attach to the guitar.
Sounds with a lot of hiss, maybe ok for live but never for recording.

A
Bad Experience
Anonymous 04.03.2017
I'm sure I probably only suffered from a bad experience - but I wouldn't recommend this product.

I bought it to try and amplify my acoustic instruments, which can't take pickups. I bought it because it was cheap and seemed to be of decent make - however, it wasn't worth the money.

To put it short, you need phantom power to use it and if you don't have any at hand the mic's pointless - but that was due to my own personal naivety, I suppose.

The worst part was that the wire broke upon my first performance. I don't know how it broke - I didn't trip or stamp on the wire or anything - it just broke. Very annoying.

I did try soldiering it back together, but it still wouldn't work afterwards.

About the only good thing I can say is that before it broke the sound was quite decent. But I never really got a chance to hear it properly before it broke.

My experience is probably not everyone's experience, but what happened happened and I can't recommend this product.
