Ovid Case
Johnf52 07.08.2015
Was somewhat surprised that this case turned up empty and I had to populate it myself, with all the accessory clips arriving individually packed in blister packs!

The case itself is very neat with proper hinges and decent catches similar to those found on a Shure Drum Mic case.
I did find that some of the cut outs were a little difficult to use and the section where the mic itself is supposed to fit was both a little bit tight and the cut out in the foam did not fit the mic capsule exactly requiring the cable to be bent over a little, which is not what I was expecting and if care is not taken, long term, could lead to damage as the "curl" if not carefully attended could get trapped in the hinge!. The cut out in the foam that comes with original mic packaging is just different enough from the cut out
in the case, on careful inspection, to cause this issue.

Other than this, all the other adapters and clips fit well in their allocated slots. The drum clip however is empty and no clip for this adapter was in the box of individual clips that came separately, so not sure if there should have been one or not.

Request: When someone buys a "complete" case, please guys send it already full!

A
the t.bone Ovid System Case
Arsen_Saryyev 22.03.2024
I purchased the t.bone Ovid System Case to protect my microphones and provide convenient and safe storage and transportation. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality and functionality of this case.

The first thing that pleased me was the quality of the materials and the sturdiness of the construction. The case is made of durable and wear-resistant material that protects the microphones well from bumps, scratches and other damages during transportation.

The second thing is the internal structure of the case. It is designed to keep the microphones securely inside the case, preventing them from moving around and getting damaged during transportation. There are separate compartments for each microphone, as well as storage space for cables and accessories.

Third, is the ease of use. The case has a convenient carrying handle and zippered closure, making it easy to use and easy to transport.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the t.bone Ovid System Case microphone case. It provides solid protection for my microphones, is well organized and easy to use. I would recommend it to all owners of the t.bone Ovid System microphones who are looking for a quality and reliable case to store and transport them.

Ok but...

Pretty reasonable quality case - has proper hinge and sliding catches (not just relying on flexing the moulded plastic as a hinge until it breaks).

Sections for more adaptors than I'll ever get. Perhaps unnecessarily stiff to get in and out at the moment. The flute mount needs to be put at exactly the right circumference which is fiddly whether or not the velcro is stuck to itself.

A flaw seems to be that a normal cable for the Ovid mic (the removable type) is too big to fit in the space that's left for it - I'm likely to have to go at the foam with a knife to make it fit.

Pros:
Good quality for a plastic case

Cons:
Mic cable doesn't fit well
Flute clip fussy to store
More expensive to buy in an Ovid bundle (£10) than separately (£8.50)

good quality for the price

Not bad microphone at all, cheap and easy to set up, nice warms sounding. With the clip it doesn't really influences the sound of the instrument. The only bad thing that i can point to is the cable which is ridiculously thin and fragile. If you have a gig on a crowded stage any wrong step can just rip the cable
