Currently, I am saving for a set of 12-Guage microphones, which are made from spent bullets - If you have not heard of 12-Guage, Google it, they are amazing!

I needed a clip that would hold very-thin microphones so I took 12-Guages recommendation and went for the spring-type clip. Having the need to purchase from Thomann anyway, I thought I would add a couple to my order.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't like a collection of these things. Call me old fashioned but I think the standard mic clip is a better option; but if you have something like a 12-Guage microphone, then these clips are the ones to buy.

Recently, I picked up an EV N/D 257B microphone. These mics have a "Warm Grip", which tends to "go hard, crack and eventually fall off". I bought my EV cheap, second hand, without its "Warm Grip" These mics are the thinnest mics I have ever seen, with the accessory not in place, and I wondered if the Holder Universal would be able to hold the microphone. It does the job, no problem.

I haven't tested it because I haven't got one, but I am guessing it might just fill in as a replacement for an AKG D112's clip. Those clips are around £15 to £18 to replace (new) so this clip could also serve a purpose for those mics whose clips are expensive to replace.

Recommended when a generic clip is your only option but use standard mic clips wherever possible. Next time I order from Thomann, I think I will buy a couple more. Now I am assured of the quality, I think they will be handy to have around.

How can you rate a consumable?
Geof H. 27.05.2013
To me, these things are a consumable item - I break so many (well, other people tend to break them for me) that I always have a box of them in stock.
These are good clips - if the price is good (which it is) then why buy something pricier when these do the job perfectly.

Universal!

I hate when I have the wrong Mic holder on the stand. When it's too big/small for the mic I have with me.

This is an easy solution and has worked with all mics I have used so far
