Overall - good mics for starters and for the money
Ithilieth 14.03.2019
I am working with a band in "online" project. Each band member records their work at home, then band leader is making the final mix. This is the reason I have purchased this set, to record my drum parts in my home drum studio.
As I am diving for the first time in drum set recording, overall I am satisfied.
Pros and cons:
- Bass drum mic is very solid and heavy. Brings the impression that is high end mic. I still struggle to record the best sound of my kick drum. I am playing metal and prog rock and could not make the bass drum to "click" on the tracks. Could be me, could be mic, could be the drum tuning. Still cannot tell for sure, yet.
-Overhead mics - I love them. The sound taken from them is nice and clear. The only thing which bothers me is that in the overall recording, my AAX metal crash somehow disappear in drums mix, which is strange. This cymbal is the loudest in my set. Still working on the best placement of the OH mics, it could be it, not the mics.
-Toms and snare mics - my toms sound fantastic on the record. On the snare I am missing more attack, but overall it even takes the specific snare ringing. I bet my snare will sound better if I place a mic on the reso head.
So far I found 1 main disadvantage of this mics. The rim attachments cannot be removed and therefore the mics cannot be mounted on standard mic stand. For me this is uncomfortable, because of the placement of my toms, I have to make strange hand curves not to hit microphone of my snare, when i am playing fills on my 10" tom.

Conclusion - best mic set for the money. I am sure at some point I will move to move expensive and quality microphones, but for the time being they are perfect so far

Worth the price!
Frisson. 20.10.2020
I was dubious about these being any good. but for live purposes! These are so easy to attach and position and the sound great!
All the hardware has been used for 6 years strait and the plastic these are made out off aren't cracking like you would expect!

Defiantly worth the moneny!

Mics are good, but the case...
MaxLutsenko 13.01.2019
The main advantage of this set is the price. The microphones themselves are not bad for their budget. Very saddened the case ... On the first day I had one clasp broke. In any case, such a locks will not live long, and it does not hold as it should. In general, personally, I would have overpaid a little for the case as in the 4000 set.

Great microphone-set for this price. Provided decent sound in studio and in live situations. Not the best ones, but better than nothing. I can recommend these to all budget drummers.

Great bang for buck
Anonymous 22.05.2015
I used these microphones for recording various band demos. Sold them when I decided to get some finer microphones. That being said I think it is really hard if at all possible to get a better deal for dedicated drum microphone set. Every part did its job and did it much better than what the price would suggest.
I had no problems whatsoever using them, build quality is really solid, no flimsy parts, or obvious corner cutting build wise. Clips/clamps are very simple yet very effective. They did sometimes fit a bit awkward on some hoops because of thicker protective rubber pads but still held, and I got the job done.
Kick mic was okay, nothing ground breaking though, tom/snare mics also, Overheads had useful pad and lo-cut switches, but were a bit on harsher, fragile and noisier side.
All in all great value for your first punk rock recordings, or live sets, where PA and room don't allow for finer details to be heard anyways. I have not used them live extensively to say what are they like in these conditions, do they reject external noise and spillage well or not.

Great quality mics, not the best but they are better than their price suggests

We use these for rehearsals and for smaller venue shows. The snare and tom mics are awesome. The kick mic is a little weak and you have to EQ it a lot but they are great mics for their price.

Great entry level drum mics.
Anonymous 02.03.2015
These drum microphones are extremely well priced and definitely worth the money paid. Good quality sound, I've used them both in a recording and live situation and they have always turned out great. In comparison to the more expensive microphones, they probably aren't as good, but this time, for the price, you get more than what you've paid for. Comes with a great little carry case that can withstand the everyday ware any band gear receives. They have served me well so far and I would definitely recommend them.
