Cool adapter to extend your jack cables
Anonymous 04.12.2014
The sssnake 1802 Adapter is one of my most used adapters since I've got it.
I was needing this piece of hardware to extend a cable that is too short, but now that i have it i have found another uses for it.

Sometimes I use it with other adapters so i can get a female jack ready to plug in to another jack (male).

It is very well build, robust and as small as it can be. I experience no signal loss when I use it and the terminals lock well without any hassle.
The grooves on it and the rubber/plastic finish are a nice touch as you can grip it firmly when you connect or disconnect the adapter.
I have accidentally dropped and step on it and the sssnake 1802 Adapter keeps working like a champ without any problem at all, showing that is resistant and ready for a real world use.

This simple device It is very useful for anyone wanting to extend a cable or needing a female jack available to connect another devices, for the price that is asked here on Thomann I think is an essential in any musician rig or studio and i really recommend it.

Really loose connectors
lapsio 17.04.2020
I ordered 2 adapters and both are really loose. One is usable but the other one is so loose I need to put cable really carefully on the ground because any slight movement of cable can break connection. As result there's a lot of crackling and noises whenever I move. Second unit also sometimes looses connection but it's not that extreme.

I mean I know it's really cheap thing but I'm not sure if it's so cheap that you should buy twice as many as you need because you need to assume there's high chance some of them won't even be usable... Well at least it's so cheap that i can order more of them. Maybe at least 2 will work...

An uninterrupted cable is better, but not always possible
Riccardo D. 24.09.2018
I have many of these small adapters. It's plastic, but fairly sturdy plastic. Not the hard-as-iron kind, but the step-on-it-softly-and-it-wont break kind. Good enough, I'd say. Choice of plastic over metal also keeps the weight under control, so you can have a few of them in your cable bag when you go to a gig. Sooner or later, they might save the day!

Some of my adapters are installed semi-permanently in my home studio/rehearsal room on longish cable runs. The cables never move, so the contact is steady and I just forget about the adapters/joints - as it should be. I should mention those longish cable runs are all balanced mono lines.

Some are used on the fly when relocating monitors (balanced mono) or for headphone extension (unbalanced stereo).

To be honest, I've never tried to use one between guitar and amp. I'm not sure if they would behave properly in such an unstable setting, with such a weak signal. But we all know you need a decent instrument jack of the proper length anyway, don't we?

Holds up well to extensive use. I use it as part of a guitar effect expression pedal set up, and have never encountered any issues with the connection.

The casing is made from plastic, but this has never caused an issue for me.

Not 100% reliable
Dave R. 08.12.2014
I found this adapter to be not 100% reliable. I sometimes have to twist the leads around or tweak them to get a connection. I recommend you to spend a bit more money to get a reliable product. I got one (also from Thomann) for about €5 which I use all the time with never any trouble.

It's made to a price

It'll help you out at a pinch.
Just don't depend upon it for longterm connections.

I tape the cables and adapter together for extra security

Solid in terms of price
Daniel S. 262 08.10.2014
This Adapter is very solid in terms of price. It can be used to conect two patch cable in order to increace the total length. This is very usefull on a effectboard, if the standard cables are to short to connect two pedals that are far away. I highly recommend it for this kind of application. It can also be used to connect guitar cables to the amp if the 5m cables are not long enough. For this application I would not advice this adapter. There is not possible way to secure both patch cable. A little pull on one side of the cable is enough losen the adapter and the connection is cut. This can easily happen during a performace. Nevertheless the price at Thomann for this adapter is very good.

Hard to find
wsnake 06.10.2020
It's really hard to find, but thankfully it's available on Thomann.

It's cheap and doesn't look sturdy, but it just works for non serious application.
