An ambiguous protection
Dr. Builder 05.07.2024
Installing this protection on your pocket operator (PO) is an ambiguous experience. Not in the last because you need to remove the hinge from the PCB, which can mess up your board when not done appropriately. next to that, although meant to be removed by teenage engineering, the PO with the hinge has an own style... The protection could be cut on the top part to slide the hinge through, I did not do that, and I would guess it is not so easy to cut the good quality rubber.
The biggest plus I would call the somewhat more protection on the battery compartment (battery poles are covered).
The biggest minus is that the PCB screening is covered, which is normally different for each PO, and thus the functions must be remembered. Next to that the cover does offer slight, but not much protection for the PO display.

Good, but overpriced in my opinion
Jonas78 22.07.2018
I've bought this casing for a PO Tonic as I think the bare PO's feel too fragile for frequent usage. As there is no specific casing for the Tonic (or other newer model operators) you're automatically stuck with this general model, which doesn't have the exemplifying symbols on the buttons like the model specific 'pro-cases'.

Although the build quality is decent I think for almost 40 euro's it's too expensive of a peripheral, but as this is teenage engineering it is to be expected.

My biggest gripe at the moment is that older, cheaper (29,- euro), specific casings like the CA-12 are discontinued, so if you have a PO-12 and want pro-case protection you're stuck with this one.

PO protection for on the go
Iskariot 03.11.2020
It somewhat limits the knob responsiveness on the PO (mostly unregistered key presses), resulting in a bit more fiddling compared to PO use without the case.
Small trade off for protection when using it on the go, but annoying in a studio environment (i take it off).
