looks very cool!
MarkLim 15.12.2020
i was surprised when it came because it was huge! it was heavy also and seems built well. Tried to record on it using my Scarlett 2i2. one thing i immediately noticed is that it has very low volume (compared to a condenser). I need to bring my gain knobs almost full before it gives a decent volume. But i think that is normal for dynamic recording mics. You just have to turn up in DAW.
Overall i am quite satisfied with it.
Below is a recording where I used this mic for your reference.

Fun that works...in some applications..
Anonymous 09.05.2016
This looks great and sounds a better than you might expect at the price...which seems to true of Superlux in general...
As other reviewers have pointed out its heavy and keeping in period it needs a straight stand with a heavy round base to use with confidence...the little desktop that comes with it works great...on a desk...
I mistrust on/off switches.....but so far so good but thats with limited use..
Maybe its because the capsule is a bit far back from the monster 1940's looking grille or because its less unidirectional than "normal" mikes but it does need more level on the desk and is more prone to feedback...and an aggressive vocalist could probably loose teeth..so not really a practical proposition for most applications...but it looks so good its a keeper!

Great looking, retro style mic
Anonymous 24.02.2015
A VERY heavy retro style mic. Worth it for the looks alone. The sound is very good for the price and the mic is quite versatile with the three-way switch on the back for vox, instruments and drums.
That said, I do not use this in my live set ups as I prefer the lighter (and arguably even better sounding t.bone GM 55). Be aware you will need a very sturdy stand to mount this mic on and even then only vertical. Our keyboard player tried it on a boom mic stand but the weight was not practical.
I now use this mic mostly for vocals on our home karaoke set up and it's great. I have also used it with didgeridoo and it does a great job here too.

A good, heavy microphone
Anonymous 14.10.2014
The microphone is good, made in very heavy aluminium. The included table stand is nice, and as heavy as the mike itself. There is an on-off switch on the front (highly visible for anyone using it) and a small hidden three-way switch on the back (which changes the capsule settings between 'voice', 'instruments' and 'drums').

Don't expect huge sound differences from that backside switch though. Also, it's a passive microphone (in spite of its looks), so you will have to get close up. It's basically only intended for crooner-singers or small bands or choirs.

On the other hand, it is much less unidirection than more common microphone styles (meaning you don't have to stand directly behind it) and you don't need a phantom power source.
