Bang for the buck, I guess?
Karmo7 07.03.2020
Bought them for only monitoring live recording levels at church.
First thing i did was to compare them to my ATH-M50x. Here are my thoughts:

Build quality:
Nothing no praise unfortunately. Manufacturing marks, cheap looking thin cables, cheap-feel plastic, ugly carrying pouch and "leather" headband pads.

Comfort:
These are huge! Pads feel stiff and earcups can only move few degrees to adapt over your ears. But this can be a good thing when you happen to have slightly bigger ears.

About the sound:
I found them very bass heavy, but bass is quite tight and defined. But for my taste, too much bass.
Low-midrange is quite "missing" and what's left is muddy.
Upper-midrange is good! Vocals sound very clean, nice and present through these!
There is a very audible presence boost say, about 5-8kHz range. It gets a little annoying and tiring when listened on high volume for some time.
Unfortunately above these frequencies there is mud again. Highest frequency details, often referred as "air" or "shine", are poorly defined and sound dull.
They are not very sound proof either. Outside bleeds in and otherwise. Wouldn't recommend for tracking.
One more thing, compared to ATH-m50x, they sound "distant". While ATH feels really close, in your face, HD-669 creates "distance" between the the ears and the sound. Can't say if it a good or a bad thing.

Power hungry!
They do need a lots of power to drive them. When plugged straight to smartphone, you cant get anywhere near loud without distortion. But my MacBook Pro preamp did just fine.

FOR THE PRICE I would say amazing sound! Useable for a lots of things, but for serious mixing or everyday music listening, please consider something else. In blind test I would have guessed them in 50-60 euro price range by the sound.

M
good headphones
Mehto 19.11.2020
Cheaper alternatives got dropped from the table once and broke. Had to buy new ones and decide to go with a little pricier ones.

Comes in with shorter and longer cables that are quite handy. Headband feels kind of cheap and I don't really like them. Then again they don't bother that much so in this price range it's not that big of a deal

Awesome sound! but my head hurts.
Anonymous 11.05.2014
I really like these phones, but the reason why I bought these was not the reason why I will keep these.

The headphones have a really clear sound, and according to my friend who also uses these. The phones have a straight EQ curve. (with my own EQ settings) The bass is huge. The mids are okay, The treble is okay, but a bit too much for me.

The phones are big, over the ears, huge. They look a bit weird when they are on you, but if you don't care how you look, that really doesn't matter.

These will not break on you, like seriously these are built to last. You don't have to worry about breaking these when you take them off of your head, unlike with some other headphones.

I bought these headphones, so I could have massive amount of quality while on the buss for example. These do deliver in the sound department, but not in the portability. They are a bit heavy and a bit un-comfy. You need to let these morph to your head until they become comfy.

They are really big, so be aware of that! And whilst these are on your head they are borderline UGLY!

I still do recommend these, because if you want big headphones that have good quality for dirt cheap. These are just meant for that.

O
Very good value for moeny
OrtonE 23.12.2015
I bought this headphones for my recording studio few weeks ago and already used it in several recordings. Although they cannot be really used as the reference headphones they work very well as the recording monitors for musicians. I had number of musicians using it for couple hours and none of them ever complained about the comfort, signal level, noise cancelling or sound quality. Mixing on this headphones may be a bit difficult as they (in my opinion) have a bit too much lows (as it often is in budget closed headphones) and lack of clarity in mids, however please be aware that I'm comparing it to the DT-880 Pro and K240MkII that cost 10 times more. The difference between hi-end and HD-669 can be clearly heard but on the other hand they not that far from them in sound and build quality as they are in price which is very good thing. I have to say that so far this are the best budget close cups headphones I've ever had in my 20 years career. I would recommend it to anyone that need good monitoring headphones. They can't be beaten by anything else at this price tag.

Cheap and useful solution for a careful use
Georgie the Greek 21.03.2022
Nice, crystal clear sound that was totally worth the cost, and an interesting choice for the brand to add a shorter jack 3.5mm close to the headphones. Using it for 2-3 months, the pros and cons are:
+++ : It's pretty functional to be able to unplug the cable extension. It's easier to pack, and gets tangled a lot less.
---- : The short cable connecting directly to the headphones wore off after some time, and it was impossible to fix, even though the headphones remained intact.

Neutral, clear sound, comfortable over-ear cups, OK noise isolation. The wire loops connecting the cups could be a bit longer - I sometimes get pressure and discomfort over the top of my head after wearing them for a while. The plastic covering of the wires has also cracked in a few places after a few years of use, but that hasn't affected comfort or functionality in any way.

Amazing for the money and even better after some modding!
Luca ^.^ 06.07.2024
About 3.5 years ago I was looking for some new headphones that shouldn't be too expensive since at the time I was still a student.
I got a lot of recommendation for Superlux headphones for their amazing sound especially for their price.

So I ordered these.

I really liked them but the earcups where really stiff and uncomfortable.
So I bought some replacement memory foam + cooling gel earcups on amazon and after that they were the best "gaming headphones" I ever had for those years.

I am also just now coming back and write this review because I wanted to see how long they lasted since I ordered them and after near daily use on my PC (with a number of rough encounters of me forgetting to remove them before standing up) they "finally" started to show and make it audible that there is significant wear and tear at the connection piece for the adapter of the the removable cable.

So if your hope for the removable cable was that you will avoid cable wear and tear then I sadly need to disappoint you since for that the headphones would need a female aux connection and not a male one that dangles on a irreplaceable very small cable. BUT if you want that for better cable management it is still very useful!

All in all I liked them a lot and do recommend them especially for gamers on a budget IF they want closed over ear headphones and are willing to replace the earcups for more comfort!

Does the job
Stenacious 18.07.2020
I have been using these as an output for my mixing desk for my guitar and vocals. They are very comfy and carry sound the well. Good for a cheap pair of headphones - my only concern would be that they look like they might break easily if you are not careful.

Lots of fragile seeming plastic but the headphones are tougher than they look.
When first worn they do GRAB your head but they will change within a week of mild use,
A little uncomfortable after long usage (4+ hours)
Sound is amazing for mixing audio, I'm switching from headphones that were 4x the price that came better recommended when purchased and they cant hold a candle to these
