Overpriced for what it does IMO
Dallali 05.09.2018
The price does not reflect the use I will get out of this. As a guitar tech, I figured it would be nice to get the annoyance of string-stretching by hand out of the way. However it feels a little clumsy and may take time to get used to using. I think if it was cheaper then I would be happier with the purchase. I do not tend to use it much unless restring a few guitars in a row.

Saves a lot of hand pain
stobbsyboy 03.07.2018
Absolutely love this thing - I run a small instrument repair workshop so I'm putting on new strings and stretching them out fairly often and that's where this tool shines, it's become an essential tool to me and as the title of the feedback says - it saves hand pain, when you have to stretch 3 guitars by hand for customers collecting them that same day it is very painful and this eliminates that completely, the main drawback to it is that bass strings tend to grind it away a little bit - not too much but it definitely shows signs of wear after about 10 basses, it does wear away with wound guitar strings but it's not as noticable and the tuning stability is unbeatable assuming all other points causing tuning problems are sorted - e.g. nut etc. if this one breaks I'll definitely buy another one as theres no way I can go back to doing it by hand after experiencing how amazing, consitent and easy it is to use

A
String Stretcha
Anonymous 21.02.2017
I bought my first String Stretcha a few years ago from the maker in the USA. I thought at the time it was a very fine little tool and decided to give it to my guitar technician friend who usually did string changing and setting up for me. He has found it absolutely indispensable as his 'go-to' string stretcher.

I've now got back into changing my own strings so I thought I'd better splash out on a Stretcha of my own. I say 'splash out' because, compared to other string multi-tools on the market, it is rather expensive. But, make no mistake, it really is worth every penny! The American guy who developed it took the basic principle of using your thumb and a finger to stretch the strings and converted it into solid plastic - thus completely avoiding any finger laceration. With a perfect ergonomic handle that fits firmly in your hand it's a joy to use. And, more's to the point, it does its job beautifully.

I don't think one can really recommend this too highly: it's an absolutely brilliant little invention that deserves to be far better known and better available than it is. I believe you can only get it from the American supplier or from Thomann - nowhere in the UK seems to sell it, which is a great pity.

So, to make string-changing and tuning up so much easier do not hesitate to invest in one of these: you'll never regret it - it's money well spent! A brilliant little tool!
