Technical Data:
The Stairville FS-x350 LED Follow Spot is designed with the essential functions of a spotlight in mind: For example, it has a comparatively high power rating for a mid-priced model, which allows it to provide powerful illumination over medium distances (up to 30m). The cool white LED can be set to emphasise the desired atmosphere with a relatively large number of colour correction filters, and a colour wheel can also be activated. To allow the operator to concentrate fully on manoeuvring the light, the Stairville FS-x350 LED Follow Spot can be controlled via an external DMX system in addition to the onboard control panel. And to provide the greatest possible range of motion, the scope of delivery also includes an extra-long power supply cable.
After the generously dimensioned 4m power cable has been connected to the Stairville FS-x350 LED Follow Spot's lockable Power Twist socket, the 300-watt LED (which combines the aforementioned 30m range with a beam angle of 10°) is ready to go. Users must allow for a power consumption of 350W, however. The Stairville FS-x350 LED Follow Spot can be integrated into a DMX landscape using its three-pole DMX input and output sockets, allowing DMX control of the colour selection as well as five colour temperatures from 2700 to 8000K and the iris, dimmer, and stroboscope - all of which can also be controlled using the onboard control panel, of course. The fuse holder is easily accessible and located between the power socket and the DMX input.
The Stairville FS-x350 LED Follow Spot's range opens up a wide range of applications in clubs and event locations. The rear panel is conveniently slanted for ease of access to the onboard controls and menu screen, while the iris, dimmer and stroboscope can be effortlessly adjusted using the easy-to-grip faders. The user can set specific fade times in order to achieve subtle effects during shows and theatre performances or lend just the right mood to everything from Rock songs to Pop ballads by manually softening or sharpening the focus. For fixed installations, the Stairville FS-x350 LED Follow Spot can be suspended from a ceiling or truss, or if taken on tour or used in a multi-functional room, its bracket will also allow it to be mounted on a stand.
Since it was introduced in 1994, Thomann’s in-house brand Stairville has been a permanent fixture in the store’s product range. The brand primarily focuses on the field of stage lighting in general, and its products include spotlights, moving lights, and theatre lighting as well as smoke machines, electronic control systems, and every other accessory you can think of. Thomann constantly has around 1,600 Stairville products on offer, and the figures speak for themselves: Statistically, one in every fifteen Thomann customers owns at least one Stairville product. Incidentally, the name “Stairville” is also a catchy English translation of “Treppendorf”, the town that Thomann calls home.
For the Stairville FS-x350 LED Follow Spot to be used in the intended manner, it should of course be mounted on a suitable stand. The follow spot's metal bracket allows it to be screw-mounted to the end of the stand's telescopic tube - that's all there is to it. Smooth-action follow spot stands are also available from other brands such as Manfrotto, and these stands usually have adjustable legs to compensate for any unevenness in the floor. Roller race models, which can be wheeled smoothly to and fro, expand the range of possible applications even further.
