Best capo I used so far
zarzonis 02.02.2020
I play guitar for 17 years. Ιn those years, I used many capos. Some were good and others were horrible. Shubb C1 is without a doubt the best capo I used so far. I'm not claiming that this is the best capo there is because that would mean that I tried every capo available. I'm pretty sure though that it's one of the best. It may be a little more expensive that other capos, but it's not super expensive. The fact that it does the job so well completely justifies the cost. Even though that it's advertised as a steel strings guitar capo, it even works great on my classical guitar.

Pros:
- Excellent fit with all of my guitars(one acoustic, one electric and one classical guitar)
- Small size compared to other capos I used in the past
- Adjustable tension
- Solid construction
- Good rubber protection for the neck

Cons:
- Nothing so far to be honest. If I had to be picky, I would prefer a black color option.

To sum up, Shubb C1 is a solid capo and I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of a capo. I would buy it again if I had to.

C
reluctant at first, happy afterwards
Charaiveti 15.09.2022
i bought this one after one thomann employee recommended it to me, during my short visit there. i didn't like it in the beginning, but testing it afterwards extensively in live situations i realized how good it is. guitar stays in tune, you apply the right pressure on the strings and it is quite easy to place on the neck, once you get the knack of it. great tool at a good price, goverall.

Well well well

If it isn't the best capo around. Yep - this one is the capo to get. Nope, no need to read further, this is the one. However, besides that - here are some things to care for:

Before this, I had a cheapo capo that came along with a guitar maintenance set, it was good enough - had to manually adjust the spring tension every once in a while, as the middle parts would not be completely pressed down, but rather slightly "muted".

As soon as I got this capo - I've put it on the guitar and started carefully plucking the strings. Unless I really put it in a bad spot - all strings ring out as they should.

If you are looking to buy your first (and most likely the only) capo - look no further, but here is a friendly piece of advice. All capos I came across have metal construction - so, you cannot just play around with these recklessly, it can be easy to scrape your beautiful guitar finish or even worse, do some damage to the frets themselves. This is, of course, if you are completely reckless with it, hell, if you drop your smartphone on your guitar you can damage it. (it should go without saying, but I'm telling this from the experience I've seen other guitarists make)

N
A buy-it-for-life capo, versatile
NiceBenton 07.02.2020
I had ca. 6 different capo's over the years, everything from 3e to 45e in cost. I got ripped off with that last one. All the other designs, nylon strap, spring-loaded etc do not work as well for me as this one. It is plenty fast to use in live situations and unlike other capo's does not mess with the tuning or string position, thanks to the fine adjustment screw.

I appreciate that it is a nearly all metal (very poroven) design by a company that has been around and a standard forever.

I have used it for my acoustic, electric guitar, as well as bass as well as tiny guitalelle, seems to fit almost everything.

I am a practical person, I highly recommend this one, I see no point in spending less on a capo I will replace or which doesn't work as well, nor in spending more on a capo that may not last as long.

No.1 for a reason
Hendrik6823 01.04.2014
Considering functionality, price, quality, ergonomics, size and handiness this is the best capo available.
Finally a capo that stays in position and, at the same time, is not the way of the fretting hand (unlike other monstrous models out there).
Thanks to its slim shape and clever construction, it can be easily used with one hand.
Previous capos sometimes left marks on the fretboad and slightly damaged the back of the neck/lacquer of my guitar. The rubber parts of the Shubb are soft yet hard enough to perfectly do the job.
In terms of quality this is a once in a lifetime product. The strings are completely pushed down and ring out clearly, no buzzing. Even if you do not place it right behind the fret.
The screw to adjust the pressure and make the capo fit to many neck shapes is as simple as it is well thought out.

Best there is.

The working (wo)man's capo
NicoAlfredo 23.10.2017
More affordable capos exist, and also others that are stupid expensive (I'm looking at you, Thalia... You shall stay in your corner until I say you can join the rest of us!!!) but this Schubb capo is really the BEST combination of form and function.

I've had so many capos over the years... There comes a point when you get tired of the little problems cheaper capos can suffer from: intonation, durability.

I was tempted by the S-model (stainless steel) but opted for the slightly cheaper C-model (chrome). They also make one with brass, but Thomann didn't have it when I made the purchase.

Highly recommended!

PH
still the best
Pieter H. 23.05.2022
I've tried so many different types and brands of capo and I still come back to this one: it's elegant, discrete and works! The newer design (it used to be the deluxe model until the revamped the range and this became the new standard) is even smoother and easier to use than ever. My one gripe is that it is slightly shorter than my older standard capos and as such only just manages to stop top and bottom E on a regular acoustic (Taylor) neck; this is why handling only gets 4 stars. This isn't really an issue this time as I keep it in the PRS custom 24 case and use a standard with the Taylor. I have spare rubber bits so probably can be fixed with one of those!

Good product!
Niels04 26.11.2024
I needed to upgrade and get an adjustable and proper capo and this thing qualifies for both. Simple and easy to use, well built and compact so it doesn't bother you while playing and it looks nice. Grips my acoustic and electric really well, even the bass guitar. Definitely worth getting!

Much better than my old original one
Pete-plays-guitar 18.01.2021
I bought one of these years ago when it had the little rubber nipple to lock it in place, the little metal wheel provides a much smoother and firmer lock in place.
It is very low profile which is good for fat hands as it does not get in the way. Set up correctly it perfectly grabs the fret not too tight or loose.
The rubber bar which is replaceable is not too soft and works great. All in all you really cannot go wrong with this capo and the price is good too.
I use this on my electrics and acoustic guitars with no problem.
Highly recommended.
