S
SH5 fits fantastically in the bridge of a Gibson SG
Slyelessar 08.07.2019
I have had a Seymour Duncan SH-5 (Covered) previously on a 2012 Gibson SG Standard, which I ended up selling when moving abroad. Since I have returned, I have purchased a 19993 Gibson SG standard and have deliberately chosen the SH-5 for the bridge.

Pros:
Built for crunchy Hi-Gain rhythm. This pickup will give you 80's/90's type heavy rock and metal tones. It pairs really well with guitar bodies/wood with good mid tones- hence the SGs. Quality construction and parts.

Cons:
This can be hit or miss in Les Paul type guitars, and is one of those marmite pickups - you either love it or hate it.

Frequencies:
This pickup is designed with tight bottom end, a slight scoop in the mids, and clear hi's.

Further information:
This pickup model is liked by HIM guitarist Mikko Lindstrom in the bridge of his SG's. Naturally, this pickup works well with British voices amps such as Laney.

V
Great sound

Was impressed with the contrast between this and the SH-1, but I think they pair very well.

Absolutely great sound, even through cheaper amp. Clear and great upgrade path.

Sehr guter Tonabnehmer
