Great for Further Study

I wouldn't recommend this to absolute beginners or those who just want to learn playing their favourite songs, but for those who have already understood the basics such as holding your guitar, picking, chords and notes, and decide you want to delve further understanding in how music is created, especially if you want to improvise or make your own compositions, this book is for you!

I appreciate the teaching without the history lesson. It just gets right to the nitty-gritty, makes you listen, tests on what you've retained, and practice some more. It touches on very important subjects such as intervals, which I think a lot of books never explained well.

Legible print is always a plus. Accompanied examples in an audio access online.

Great book

Very helpful book/cd combination. Ideal for intermediate players whose theoretical background isn't great. The layout is very clear and progression in difficulty is good, very linear not too much of a jump between difficulties. Great book, all round.
