Amazing strings
Mathieu Trobec 07.07.2021
I use these trings for rock, metal and jazz and love them. I've been using them for over 10 years and never experienced a problem.
For me personally, they sound the best after around a week of playing. I change them after 3-4 months. The sound is very clear in the beginning and gets warmer over time. I love the feeling too. I didn't had this clarity and durability of sound with other strings, they get dead faster.
There used to be red thread on both ends but now it's only one side. I guess they downgreaded aesthetics to lower the costs. Talking about price, before the Brexit, you could find these strings for way cheaper. That would be the only bad point!
Try them!

BEST TWANG FOR BUCK
Graham3281 25.04.2023
Been playing bass for around 50 years. Rotosound SM66 Swing bass are my go to bass string. I prefer steel round wounds to tape or flatwounds for cutting through the mix (unless I'm going for that Motown vibe). Entwistle and Squire were early influences hence my choice. I love the tone of these punchy mids and crunchy treble. I prefer the 40 -100 hybrid gauge, particularly when using a drop D tuning on the E string. They are overall good value for money with reasonable life. They can feel a little abrasive to the touch and a little harder on the fingers than some, but any regular player would take this in their stride, and fingers soon toughen up. These are the benchmark against which I judge all other bass strings. I also love DR High beams which are probably the best string I've tried, and my absolute favourite, but they are usually around 50% more expensive. So Rotosound are the best twang for buck in my book

The best strings
marvinthemartian 16.07.2021
I'm into heavy genres.
Rotos are my favourite strings. They are reliable, they have a bright, cutting tone, and they last long. Plus, they come in a variety of useful gauges. The downside is that their unique tone might not be to everyone's taste. Roto also tend to wear out frets faster than other stainless steel stringsets.
Highly recommended.
