Durable drum pad

I've had 8 years of use from my Roland drum pad. I use it through a Alesis drum brain as a kick drum for an acc duo. It's still going strong after being kicked hard at so many gigs. I can't fault it's design or durability except that the jack lead seems to be starting to fall out mid gig recently, I solved this with a bit of sticky tape so rock on the next 8 years.

Perfect for the price

Great pad, but must have a Roland module. I tried it with the Millennium module, it doesn't respond so well

A Durable and Versatile

I recently purchased the Roland PD-8 V-Drum Stereo Rubber Pad from Thomann and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance and durability. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell that this was a high-quality product. The pad is constructed from heavy-duty materials and feels very solid in hand. The rubber playing surface provides a natural and responsive feel, and the dual-zone triggering allows for accurate rim and head shots.

I have been using the PD-8 for a variety of purposes, including practicing my drumming technique, playing along to my favorite songs, and even recording drum tracks for my own music productions. The pad has responded flawlessly to everything I've thrown at it, and I'm confident that it will continue to do so for years to come.

One of the things I love most about the PD-8 is its versatility. It can be used as a snare, tom, or even a hi-hat, making it a great addition to any electronic drum kit. I've also found that it's very compatible with different Roland modules, so I don't have to worry about compatibility issues.

Of course, no product is perfect, and the PD-8 is no exception. I have found that the pad can be a bit sensitive to ghost notes, especially if the settings on the module are not adjusted properly. However, this is a minor issue that can be easily remedied with a little tweaking.

Overall, I highly recommend the Roland PD-8 V-Drum Stereo Rubber Pad to anyone looking for a durable, versatile, and affordable drum pad. It's a great choice for beginners and experienced players alike.

Pros:

High-quality materials and construction
Natural and responsive feel
Dual-zone triggering
Versatile can be used as a snare, tom, or hi-hat
Compatible with a variety of Roland modules
Cons:

Can be sensitive to ghost notes
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Additional Thoughts:

I would also like to add that the PD-8 is a great value for the price. I was able to find it for around $89, which is a steal for a pad of this quality. If you're looking for a great drum pad without breaking the bank, the PD-8 is definitely worth considering.

I hope this review is helpful.

Roland PD-8 V-Drum Rubber Pad

The first thing I noticed when setting this up was the superb quality! I know there are loyal Roland fans of all things Roland (guitar pedals, keyboards), but this really made an impression. The feel is just right, with natural stick bounce and no physical noise from the hits - only the electronic triggering. The touch sensitive (hit sensitive) action is every bit as good as hoped for. It feels like a real drum should. The "stereo" is not truly stereo in the usual sense - they could have called it dual channel for skin and rimshots. The rim feels slightly odd being rubber instead of metal, but that's only a minor point. (sticks last longer!). I also tried this with the EH Space Drum pedal, not being sure if this would work with a true analogue device, but it works just fine, and is touch/hit sensitive even with this! (I can play "Cheap Sunglasses" now!). Thoroughly recommended!

Really great pad. Easily attaches to any stand on your kit and feels very nice to play as part of an electronic or hybrid kit. Also easily integrated into my SPD sampler system. Would highly recommend.
