Pyramid strings

I use these strings on a Ibanez SZ520. It has a slightly shorter scale length then a Fender type guitar, so thinner strings feel kinda wobbly on it. This .011 set is just right and produces a nice wiry feel under my finger tips. It feels more like a acoustic guitar to me which is very comfortable yet still easy enough to allow bending. The tone is fat and warm with enough heights to shimmer nicely in the band mix. The set will stay in tune after five minutes of playing when your guitar provides good tuners. The strings lasts for about four to five weeks of playing. After that period the strings slowly begin to develop a rough surface which is not comfortable to slide on any more.

Sorry, but they do not fit in my style!

Over the years I played a lot Daddario and Ernie Ball. Both great sounding strings, but not THE ultimate decision for my whole life. So now you know my previous experiences :-)
I wanted to test a few different string sets. I bought at Thomann strings from GHS, Fender, Gibson, SIT and Pyramid.
I am not a guy who always needs to play "big brands" like Gibson and Fender.
But in my string challenge they won. The finest sound gave me the Fender String Set, followed by Gibson and GHS.
The Pyramids reminded me a lot on the SIT Set, which was stainless steel.
They sound and felt very "old" to me. They looked darker and sounded not as brilliant as "new" strings shall sound.

A
very versatile, nice sound

I'm coming from Germany, so I am very happy to find strings that come from Germany, even from a traditional manufacture. So my strings must not travel around the world.
I use this strings on my Gibson SG with humbuckers, and it works very fine with them. The tone is very clear (clean and distorted). They are very smooth and have a long durability for many weeks. I play rock and jazz with them, more vintage than modern.
I used other strings before, and I often had the feeling, that I must work too much with the EQ to get clearness. The Pyramid Strings are balanced very fine, there is no mud in the sound, not too much bass or treble.

More like rock

These nickel strings are a bit strange, because they deliver really powerful sound, that reminds more of heavy end Boomers. Maybe it is because of gauge, but with these babies my Les Paul sounded more like ESP.. :) It is not a bad thing, of course, only matter of preference - but be warned, that if you want mellow jazz tones, then this is not for you.
