Very durable

Had this case now for more than 15 years. Sax was safe and the case is still in pretty good condition.

A
Fits my sax snugly as a glove :)
Anonymous 29.04.2014
This is my second Protec PB case purchased from Thomann and the quality is even better than of the alto case. I was a bit worried, as the bell of my Bauhaus Walstein tenor is on the larger side (6 inches), but the sax fits like in a glove. The interior padding is excellent and the curves and angles (around thumb hook and low-bell guards) of the case ensure your sax doesn't move or tilt while carrying it. It's very sturdy and has plenty of room for the neck and 1 mouthpiece internally and two spacious pockets externally. Ideal as a cabin bag for air travel, as it fits most overhead storage compartments in planes. It looks very well and it's weather-proof too.

It's strongly suggested to purchase the backpack straps as well for commuting and travelling. I have them for my alto case anyway, so I saved the cost. Read your sax maker data sheet before purchasing, regarding the bell size, as anything over 6'' will require the XL version (e.g. Keilwerth, Paul Mauriat and some Selmer and vintage tenors).

Delivery from Thomann to UK is always fast and reliable and package tracking was avail at each step of the way. Simply, a happy customer!

S
So good I bought another!
SteveR 27.05.2013
I had already bought the alto version of this case and was very happy with it. The tenor version has the same features as its little brother:

* Excellent build quality - this is a case that will last.
* Dedicated spaces for the sax, neck and mouthpiece
* Two generous pockets to store accessories
* An optional backpack strap to allow hands-free carrying

Just as for its sibling, the case has one minor issue. It tends to topple when the sax is removed. If the neck or mouthpiece are not secured, they could be launched into the air with the potential for damage, but this didn't deter me from buying.

Excellent product

I find this works almost perfectly for me. Excellent durable construction and materials. Plenty of space for accessories - very good fit for my Yamaha horn. Only one small quibble - the pouch on the rear (for back pack straps) could have been marginally bigger to allow it to fit A4 sheet music.

Ok case but shoulder strap broke

Take care if you are biking with the case on the back. Fortunately I caught it before impact. I love the storage pockets!

PC
Tenor Sax Case

These Protec cases give good sturdy protection for your horn. They are robust without being too heavy and with the shoulder strap provided they are easy to carry.
There is also secure spacing in the case for the crook and a mouthpiece
The two side pockets are spacious and expandle so you can fit a stand in one and all your other bits and bobs in the other.
These are good quality pro cases; I also have one of their soprano cases for my EWI.
Strongly recommended.

Good-ish

Good, well made case, with a coupe of downsides. Although the zips are good quality, the side pocket one has broken - 1 star off. One drawback too is that it doesn't lie flat, which it needs to when you're putting the sax back in. Don't really get why it's designed this way, but anyway this is easily resolved as you can cut the two small end straps that stop it lying flat. You shouldn't have to do that though so loses another star. I bought a Mauriat tenor recently, and this is the same case as the Mauriat branded one it came in.
