These are the main patch cables I use at home for experimenting and playing around, as they are very sturdy and can handle constant plugging/unplugging and changing pedal positions. They are cheap enough so that I don't worry about damaging and replacing them, though after two years of on and off use I haven't yet had to do so.
However, they are not ideal if you want to pack as many effects on your board as possible, and as neatly as possible, as the jack plug is a bit large and bulky, so for that purpose there are specialized patch cables with flat jack plugs. The cables themselves are also quite thick and not as flexible as some others I have used, though this adds to their solid durability.
The signals sounds clear and transparent, no complaints there!
