P
A superb parametric EQ with an unbelievable sound
Pete-plays-guitar 22.05.2017
I was in two minds whether to go for this or a graphic for the pedal board, but I am very satisfied I went for this purchase.

You really get two pedals in one with this box. There is a really sweet sounding parametric EQ and a 12dB clean boost (the 'oil' knob).

When I say 'sweet' EQ, it is because the frequency bands are specifically aimed for guitar. Whether you want to fatten up the mids or scoop the mids, you can 'tune in' exactly what you want.

I pair this with the Orange Micro Terror, which gives the amp a VERY wide range of tonal possibilities. Also running the guitar through this before any other pedal allows you to substantially shape the tone of the guitar prior to any other processing.

It might seem a lot of money for an EQ, but the fact is that this can dramatically change the tone of your guitar and really fill out the sound of your instrument.

Once you have found the sweet spot of your sound you can then boost the overall sound up to 12dB to drive the amp (or your overdrive pedal). In terms of noise, it is also VERY quiet.

It does sound cheesy, but I can't imagine playing the guitar now without running it through this first to 'tune' my sound.

A very happy purchase was made with this unit and very few other parametric EQs with this ability in the price range.

....... oh, and it is built like a tank!

Highly recommended

100 watts lightbulb

This is awesome. VEry original take on tone shaping device.

It has 2 EQ bands to regulate low and high frequencies. 850hz to 8.5k hz on the highs, and 120hz to 1.2k hz on the lows. Also a 12 db boost potentiometer.

You can definitively tweak your tone using these ranges, and give it a great boost to push your amp. My analogy is that it feels as if in a not so bright room, you just switch the light on. Beautiful!

Handling 3 starts because it is too damn big and has the jacks on the sides. With that size, top mounted jacks would be much handier.

I like it a lot

I like it a lot, but it's not love yet. I believe this pedal needs some time to figure out... However, it's a keeper for sure. Don't forget to turn out the gain while experiencing with it!
