Very nice and sturdy
Nick Pitas 06.02.2021
I use it strictly with ubiquity's tough cable and tough cable connectors for rapid field deployment and guaranteed grounding (it packs an extra wire in the cable that is also in contact with the shielding directly to the RJ45 jacket).
The end product is a very sturdy and eclectically safe cable, but its thick and as the name speaks for itself tough. Its rigid end not so bendable if you are to squeeze it in tight spaces. I mean that you can surely do it, but not in a repeated manner (the cable will fail).
(Recommended for installed systems)
I still use it although in that configuration because its (in my opinion) the safest grounding solution that is vital for any AES50 network to work properly.
This is not an advertisement, this is the way i figured out the safest for my equipment which uses AES50 networking. Any brand of STP cabling will work using the Neutrik plug plus the required grounded RJ45 plug.
If you are looking into DIYing a really long snake, play it safe:
Just buy a good quality Prefabbed cable drum at the 70% of the maximum length recommended by your equipment's manufacturer.
I you need more than that (lengthwise), get an extender or repeater or switch (depending on the network) and an extra cable drum.

Looks good.

it looks good. Didn't use it yet, but if we'll have problems, I'll come back and write the negatives.
