Neutrik a must for patch panels, especially the 5-pin XLR
thelxman 19.08.2018
Not cheap (but then again not too bad for Neutrik). But it's a beautiful connector. Also use the rear mounting bezel (Neutrik MFD, ) instead of plain nuts, they only cost a few pence and make the mounting process so much easier and secure the connector much more securely.
If you are building a patch panel where people are plugging/unplugging (and probably some poor brand connectors) then it has to be Neutrik. Especially for the 5-pin XLR (lighting DMX), because the diameter of the pins is less than the 3-pin XLR. Pick a cheapy brand and you're going to get bent or broken pins and damaged mating connectors. So don't be a fool, use genuine Neutrik in these applications. Save your cheapy brands for less challenging applications!

Great!

This is for a small project where I was making a Wifi/DMX/Art-Net?Hub for lighting inside film-studios. For some small set-ups.
(DMX-In)
Before soldering I check if the connector was good! And it was. Maybe I held the soldering iron to long near it.. I broke it.. Also I order a few of these kind. And it was my first try ever..
+1pt It feels solid
-1pt I may have accidentilly melt it..

I always feel I can trust Neutrik
Steveh100 29.01.2018
It's going to be fitted to the rear of my Thorens TD125 turntable that I'm refurbishing. The ideal connector for the job and Neutrik is the ideal high quality.
Unfortunately there was an error. Please try again later.

Löthilfe
Natural Sounds 29.12.2019
