Sweet but more comfort for small fingers than arthritic wrists
Anonymous 22.02.2017
This has the same sweet tone as the other Castillo boxwood Denner family. It comes with a spacious hard case and has bottom keys which are far easier to use than some instruments.
However, as someone who has recently found a normal tenor really uncomfortable because of arthritic wrists it didn't really help me too much. I find flexing my right wrist to the left and taking weight at the same time excruciating at times although years ago I could enjoy playing my tenor for long periods. I mistakenly thought this would help as it was called a 'comfort tenor'. Sadly the 'comfort' only extends to decreasing the stretch with extra keys for small fingers (I have no problems with stretch) and doesn't also raise the right hand playing position. Still for short periods I can enjoy its lovely tone but I now think I would have done better looking for a knick version. Perhaps I need to experiment more with a sling!
I would recommend this for anyone with small fingers; or an excellent way of giving small children a taste of a larger instrument of their arms are long enough.
