Top quality at the right price on Thomann. Original price too expensive.

I heard and read many positive reviews about the Adris Dream series and I wanted to give it a go. I also bought a Waldorf edition soprano for my partner and I had a chance to play them both and compare them.
The feeling is of top quality, I'm not particularly keen on the darker coloured wooden rings, but that's a subjective view about aestetics. The sound is magnific: warm, sweet, powerful. A bit loud, but of course you would expect that given such a wide open bore. You easily hit the notes and the low D and C are just a pleasure to hear, with the instrument vibrating in your hand.
I still have to add antikondens liquid as the windway is so good in absorbing the moisture.
The original price as indicated by the manufacturer in my opinion is too high when compared to the quality of the Waldorf edition - which to my ears sounds identical and costs 77 vs 130¤ (as of now on mollenhauer.com) - I appreciate the royalties to Adriana Breukink, but it cannot be justified. The price I paid on Thomann is instead fair.

If it's about flutes, to feel the diffetent in sound quality you need to invest a lot. 100E flute will show some advance to 10E flute. And 500E flute will be better sounding than 100E flute.
So I can say - this model sounds quite better in high pitches than my 10E flute but to feel drastic improvement you need flute from higher shell.

Great quality and sound. I'm very happy with this instrument.

The outlook is not like most recorders which can look weird when playing with others.

This is a very nice recorder with a lovely round mellow sound. The larger bore, and fingerholes took me a while to sort out on the upper octave, but this was compounded by the fact that Mollenhauer had failed to clean out all of the sawdust from the bore, which I thought a bit lazy considering the price, which is why I've given quality only 4 stars.
