Beware singers with balance problems
Martin1855 16.01.2017
I bought three of these to replace three similar stands that I bought a year ago which have done well all things considered. These however didn't do well at all.
If what you need is a mic stand which adjusts easily and all you want to do is put a microphone on it - then that's fine .. the problems start when you stick an SM58 (or similar on it) and put it in front of a singer who is not playing and just wants to hang on to the microphone stand. They really are not designed for this. The first one lasted me about 5 minutes before the boom became detached. The other two have lasted slightly longer - but all three are now residing in the "needs attention or scrapping" box at the back of the studio. In short - the join between the main stand and the boom just doesn't take any kind of manhandling at all and once they have been bent - they are of no use at all.
