The worst quality control - two faulty stands
Pete MacG 19.05.2017
It seems as stable as a cheap lighting stand is ever going to be - enough for some LED lights.

And handling is easy enough, at least in theory...if it works...Quality control has let this product down.

There are safety pins which are meant to be slotted through the holes in the extending column. The pins did not fit the holes which is crazy. Where was the quality control? Don't they check such basic elements of the stand such as the size of a hole or a pin? This is a very basic requirement, as without the pins the stand would be unsafe and unusable.

Thomann have been very quick to offer a replacement which I'll accept, if only because I have used an identical stand before and thought it was okay for the job. So long as the pins fit!

So the stand gets a low mark from me, but Thomann get full marks for customer care.

UPDATE

The replacement stand arrived this morning. This time the crossbar mount is bent completely out of shape with a crack in the weld. As such the item is unsafe for use.

It appears that Millennium have extremely poor quality control, and I will not buy any of their products again, nor could I recommend them to anyone else.

I have lowered my star ratings accordingly.

Efficient product - standard
Aaron636 04.01.2016
I use this stand for small to medium venue gigs to hold 4 LED lights over the band. It fits into any vehicle and folds up nicely.
The stands are perfect and works fine, I have had zero problems with it so far. I have used it over 30 times and it still works perfectly.Great value for money too.
There are various pros and cons however,
Firstly the pros - great prices, durable, does the job, sturdy, solid, heavy, tidy, neat, well built etc.
Cons - Involves day one set up, lack of power supply at top to supply power for short leaded lights, can be messy on stage or venue.
At the end of the day for the price and value of the product is stands out as an excellent product and I am delighted with it so far, I can't see anything wrong with it or anything happenign to it in the near future. Perfect for DJ's, bands, singers, musicians, dancers, entertainers, comedians, you cannot go wrong in getting one of these stands. They add atmosphere with mood lighting and effect. Truly worth every penny in todays competitive music industry. I plan to buy a second in the near future!

This is a very sturdy and good quality built lighting stand.
I use this for my two PAR56 LED Cans and does the job well.

It does raise very high which is always a bonus and is quite compact to be able to take around too.

I would recommend this product

Pretty crap build
Sats 03.01.2017
Well it's cheap so you can hardly blame them but it's not a great build at all. Parts are fiddly and easily breakable.

Having said that, we're storing this lighting stand in a van each work after a church service so we're giving it a bit of hammer but I would still expect more.

Feels flimsy and very light weight. Good for carrying but bad for that sense of reliability you want with something you're hanging your lights on.

You get what you pay for really. If you're not setting it up and down each week then could be a good purchase. We've opted for a more expensive one this time.

Keep breaking down
Anonymous 25.02.2015
The plastic holding the sliding tube keeps breaking. Had 3 of them in the last 3 years which broke down in the same exact place. I never put more than 3 lamps at a time. It breaks because of quality of plastic used. Thomann replaced the item each time at no cost. Thanks for that. But I will not recommend this model to anyone.
