For those who don?t like the clangy and bright sound that is typical of almost all the chinas, here is a very focused and dark china. The underside is lathed and has a shiny finish, the upper side is intensely and randomly hammered and left raw. It?s a fast cymbal and it will produce very different sounds depending on the area where you hit it with the drumstick. The volume of sound is lower than usual in the conventional 16?? chinas, but that is not a problem. I expected it to be more explosive and to have a shorter decay, but, on the other hand, I didn?t expect it to be so good and versatile as an exotic ride cymbal.
