....and protect your subject! These are great for adding ballast to a setup and they have several uses besides c-stand ballast. You can chain several together, drape them over legs of regular lighting stands, counter-weight on boom arms etc. I have filled mine with small stones instead of sand - that avoids the mess of sand grain everywhere.
