LP 212R Claves
Jonathan165 16.02.2014
I bought these along with the Meinl CL3HW Claves for some variety. The sounds on the Thomann site are OK to give an impression but will never fully reflect the sound experience you get from actually having them in your hands. You get two distinct tones from playing over or near the scalloped section and then further up towards the top end. Compared to the Meinls, these for me have a much nicer feel and balance. They have solidity and nice weight to them. They give a lovely warm full bodied sound in the centre and a lighter tone with crisp response further up the clave. They are simply excellent and compared with the lighter Meinl CL3HW Claves, these LPs win hands down for me. Great stuff. Lovely pieces of really good quality wood. Highly recommended for any self-respecting clave-ist - a must to have a pair of these in your kit bag alongside a pair of LP King Klaves for great wood'n'stone variation.

Sounds exactly like the demo
Artemi 07.04.2024
I wanted this to produce exactly the note on the demo, and it does.
The sound is a bit piercing though, it's pretty loud actually, you need to hit it closer to the middle to get the soft sound as I wanted.
Plus: Hitting in different places kinda changes the sound, that's great.
Con: The smell of these is not the best thing.
