I have the Kawai DG30 for 2 weeks and it brings a smile on my face every time I play it. The sound of the default grand setting is warm and rich. The dynamics of the keys are so beautifully balanced that I find it pure enjoyment to play classical pieces and lighter music. The sound of the sound system is beautifully balanced. You can hear the bass notes more on the left side as you move closer to the mids you can hear it move more to the middle as the high notes are more present on the right side like you would experience the sound with an acoustic piano. The volume of the sound system could have been a little bit more to my taste but Kawai chose to make it this way. For playing the piano at home or in a restaurant the volume is ok. The control panel is amazing once you get familiar on how it works. The piano books, including the student books that came with the piano are fantastic material to get started even if you never played a piano before these books are amazing. The piano teaching feature in the panel makes it possible to make the first steps to learn how to play, I love it. The Grand looks amazing in my living room and I get a lot of compliments from my singing students. I compose orchestra music pieces and use the piano as well for midi work. It does that perfectly. How a piano sound and feel when I play is very important. The Kawai sound and feels good. I can fully focus on the music I make or play - to enjoy the music and become one with the music.
