READ THE MANUAL!
Emile Michel Hobo 30.11.2019
I know I did.

It’s easy to set up and as soon as I was like, “Hey! It’s resisting!” I didn’t push on but looked through the manual once more.

When you push up the parts that make for the sheet-music holder, you’ve got hinged parts that are long and hinged parts that are short. The short ones should stay down! Only the long parts should go up!

Some people complained that the parts were bent. I suspect they may have used force, instead of perseverance, a headache brought onto themselves for not checking the manual, and then finally the manual.

It’s real easy to setup and you need it, because when you put your lesson book flat on the table, your posture is going to be wrong, not allowing for proper gripping of your guitar or good embouchure of your mouth harp, any of these kinds of problems.

To make studying easy on yourself, especially when you hate sheet music, this is what you need to get it over with.

Great music stand, if you read the manual, real easy to set up. They even put a nice video here on Thomann that illustrates how easy it is. Watch it once more before you set it up!

Because you need to read the manual instead of creatively investigate how it works, I took one star off of the handling, because if there’s one thing I hate more than reading sheet music, it’s reading the manual.

Good stand

it's a good stand. probably as good as these stands can be. I don't give it top stars because of the nature of the product - it's very durable and top of the line but if the wind gets going so your stand will go too.

Quite stable
Gaweseb 29.12.2020
I like this stand, probably because of price. It is quite stable. I saw a large police band in Portugal using this even for the conductor. A large iPad of the conductor dropped from the stand, which is the only drawback. However this happened only once to me, which I guess has to do with making sure everytime that all screws are reasonably tightened. The only problematic screw is the thin rod as the stand can sometimes rotate and move sheet music to sides even tighten. The other important aspect is when the mechanism/screw holding the reading unfolded sheet music part is not properly screwed and unscrewed it can damage it from holding sheet music steadily especially when it is not laid back completely. This is mostly due to being unaware that caring band mates in a rush unfolds after gig. Solution is is to do it yourself and be gentle. I had to dismantle mine and repair the part with an angle grinder so it locks at any position.

K&M Quality

When it comes to stands of any kind, K&M is simply the best there is. Many foldable music stands easily bend, become loose, are unstable, or too weak to carry the required weight... But not this one! It is easy to open and close, no bending, very adjustable, easily holds a full A4 ring binder without tipping over. It's light and portable, I have a carrying case for my guitar with a long outside compartment over neck, which holds music stand and then some.

Solidly built
Anonymous 21.11.2015
Solid stand, built a little more sturdily than previous examples of the same design. There are some teeth that lock the head into graded slots which is nice.

The metal tightening knobs have plastic handles which are more comfortable, but I hope they are strong enough to last. I will edit the review if they break, so assume otherwise that they are fine.

...and made in Germany - nice.

the best one!
Borodin 14.03.2021
Very stable music stand, durable and easy to use. I like it because you can fold it and carry it even in a bag. The price is low for the quality it has. 5 stars !

Good

+ Attractive price
+ light
+ stable
+ Large adjustment range

I use the 250-page A5 notebook.
I would have preferred to butterflies as metal screws, plastic work far but do not raise trust.
A perfect purchase.

P
A decent basic stand
Pullis 19.01.2018
I bought a bunch of these for my wind band. We need portable, compact, and light stands which can easily be brought to gigs anywhere. This stand fits all three requirements well. It is quite stable despite the lightweight design. The screws are easy to handle and it is not so easy to screw them in too tight like in some other stands.

The part of the stands that actually supports the notes is quite narrow and doesn't have any bump to stop sheets from falling. This can be an annoyance and it requires some additional care in setting the angle of the stand. On outdoor gigs some clips to hold the sheets in place are a must.

Super light-weighted
midnightdim 31.03.2018
I thought I'll easily assembly it without the instruction. I was wrong :-)
Please read the instruction before using it, don't repeat my mistake.

Nevertheless, even after my wrong attempts it was not damaged, so although it's super light-weighted, it's solid enough.

It's perfect for traveling musicians!

Portability is the big plus
Jonathan5131 03.08.2017
I store this stand in my car just in case I go to play somewhere and don't find a music stand available. It's compactness and lightness makes it an excellent stand to carry around. It is not the ideal stand for windy days or heavy music books. Other stands are more stable and strong but if portability is an issue for you, buy one of K&M 101 music stands.
