awesome bass
Shaun C. 14.04.2015
I assume this bass costs less because it only has 2 band eq onboard but I say why pay more for something that all amps or heads (which will inevitably be used) already have; of the minimal electronics it has, they work and sound good. Overall great bass with a full sound, neck is a little larger but the it's thin and the shape makes it easy and smooth to play, plus it bee-yoo-tee-ful with that flat finish. Out of the box it had a lot of fret buzz from 9th fret up on the lower strings and needed to be re-intonated but when these things were (surprisingly easily) taken care of this bass is awesome.

Nice budget instrument
Anonymous 10.02.2016
I wanted a cheap six string bass to go with my fretless Warwick Corvette 6, kind of as a back-up and for just noodling around with. This Ibanez fits the bill quite nicely. I preferred this instrument over the Harley Benton fretted six basses, of which many people say "they're nice, but..."

Please do keep in mind, however, that this is a budget instrument, so corners have been cut to keep the price low. The electronics are adequate, and can be dialled to a useful variety of tones ranging from fairly mellow to fairly growly. The stock strings are meh. The neck and fretwork are actually better than I expected. The body has a nice open wood grain finish, but also some rough spots. The factory setup was terrible though. The action was way too high and intonation was nonexistent. Be ready to do this properly yourself. Other than that, I'm having fun fooling around with this bass.

A really good surprise!
lfccorreia 27.10.2021
After 27 years of playing guitar, I finally decided to get a bass and couldn't be happier with the purchase. The build quality is excellent and the bass sounds really good. Was afraid that I would find it difficult to play a 6 string bass, the it feels super comfortable in my hands.

A lot of bass for the price we pay!

A beautiful instrument with an easy to use feel. Great for soothing harmonies and extreme metal alike. It feels light and the thin neck makes it very playable.
The only problems I have found with mine is a screw on the truss rod cover cannot be undone and there is a small scrape of green paint on the top of the neck. all of this is acceptable to the incredibly low price.
This bass has an amazing sound and is definitely worth the money.

Top notch bass for the price!

This bass is perfect for those looking for a bass that is both cheap and good! My only problem with it, is that the wood is very soft.

very good for price
fronty 07.12.2020
this instrument is great for its price, it plays very nicely and overall sounds very good,
but there are some things to consider, these pickups overall are nice but they don handle the low b string very well, the higher strings sound fantastic but the low b is very muddy and i end up playing the notes on the e string instead which is a bit annoying, and my instrument arrived with the nut not properly installed so i had to glue it in place myself.

pros- very good for price, light instrument.

cons- muddy low end, possible inconsistencies in quality control

The finish is much lower than on regular gsr200 bass. Body finish sucks, pickups are wobbling and somewhat lower output
