Gorgeous looking acoustic guitar
Kris K 31.01.2021
I own this guitar for over a year now. I was in the market for a budget friendly acoustic guitar for my non electric noodling needs. I always dreamed of a black acoustic, but on my search I found this Ibanez beauty. I'm not yet a very skilled player, so high end guitars were out of the question. I'm always looking for the best value for money and this guitar caught my eye, based on reviews and looks.

It was set up nicely out of the box. It looks stunning, I can't find a single flaw on the enitre guitar. Solid build, nice binding all around, the bone nut is well cut. Even the inside of the body is extremely neatly done. No glue residue, no rough edges, no weird stains or deposits. The strings needed replacement though. The mahogany open pore top gives the guitar a warm look and feel. The neck feels very comfortable - no fret sprout at all and the tuners are smooth and work well. The sustain is massive, as is the clarity of the tones it produces.

Even though it's an Grand Orchestra size guitar, it's loud when strummed hard. It has a lot more character than the Yamaha APX500 guitar I played years ago.

So far I own a Fender Baja Telecaster (Mexico) and PRS Singlecut SE (South Korea) electric guitar, and this Ibanez AC340 is at the same quality level, even though it is built in China. Ideal for people who don't want to spend a fortune, but still expect a quality instrument.

It's hard to find any cons, even after more than a year. Only on the astetics part, I could say that the mahogany back and sides show gorgeous sort of flame, which changes as you turn it around in the light. The top doesn't show this, probably because this is solid. Yet the flame would add even more to the gorgeous looks.

On a relative budget, this guitar offers a lot of quality and playing pleasure. Recommended.

SM
Great quality instrument for the price
Shay Murphy 22.10.2019
Played very well straight out of the box. Would reccomend this guitar to a beginner or advanced player. Very versatile instrument and easy to play. I bought it for fingerstyle blues style but found that it sounds great for all styles. A slight tiny indentation on the back of the neck is only visual and doesn't effect playability and a tiny mark on the top were the only problems I encountered. For the price, playability and sound I think this is an excellent purchase.

Amazing sound
BiloSta 19.05.2020
I have not played higher tier guitars before so i can not compare it to anything, but this guitar is just amazing. Beautifully made and sound is just incredible. Great sustain, very clean and clear. Warm and not too bright highs. I feel like it has that full sound, that fills up the room, and even the more quiet notes are clear. Neck is very comfortable, it just sits nicely in hand.
Overall, incredible sound, great quality of manufacture with comfortable finish all around, from neck and body to frets.

Affordable all ‘mahogany’ guitar
MattinKernow 28.05.2024
Bought this after seeing many good reviews online. For the price it’s excellent. Lovely tone. Perfect size guitar. Well set up out of the box, with a sufficiently low action for ease of playing. The thermo-aged bridge probably does add to the rich sound quality. The tuning heads hold pitch well. The guitar feels very pleasant - a satiny finish to the very comfortable neck. The body, sides and back are very attractive - open pore finish means it can breathe and age, no thick varnish. Okoume seems like a good alternative to mahogany. All in all, very satisfied.

Amazing guitar for the money
mjak 31.10.2022
Beautiful guitar arrived in perfect shape. It came with great playability and low action. I did pay for an extra QA from Thomann having read its action was a little high from factory though.

Amazing for the price
gerrykav 14.03.2023
My wife got this for me for Christmas a few years back, and I was in love from the first moment.

It (as with most Ibanez instruments) has a wonderful neck, slim and comfortable, and came with quite low action and strung with a set of 12's.

It sounds fantastic too... quite mid-forward was would be expected with this body shape, but also full and balanced. Not boomy like a dreadnaught might be.
