Best choice.
Gaz. 28.05.2013
I play harmonica in The Sunny Day Blues blues band, so get through quite a few harps, I always use Lee Oskar's or Hohner Special 20's.
Over the years I have tried many different and more expensive makes and models including those with stainless steel reeds, valved, wooden combs etc. and I've been dissapointed with the performance compared to the above two models.
My choice or recommendations are always one of the above. They are both loud, good tone, and fast response, and I find both these models, notes are easier to bend.
I would recommend either of them, both for beginners or professional players. They are in my opinion the best value for money. Replacement reed plates are readily available for Lee Oskar's so are a little more economical, although, in the key of A, the special 20 tends to last a little longer before fatigue.

A
great harmonica to start
Anonymous 19.03.2015
I've bought this harmonica to learn how to customize a harp and I've been delivered: the harp was making a metallic sound on the 2 draw After fixing this issue, I adjusted the reed gaps and I sanded the draw reed plate I can say that is as responsive as my favorite harp ... a Crossover. This gave me a greater control for my draw and blow bends.

Opening the back cover plates make it sound as loud as the Crossover... In fact I started to like it more then my Crossover for the blues playing due to its tuning, closer to just intonation.

A great little harp

This is a Hofner marine band harmonica, so you know its going to sound good. Bought this as my first harp and its just brilliant in my opinion, easy to bend and good sound. I'm gonna buy a few more later on.

Its the best I have tried

After spending a few months trying Suzuki and Lee Oskar harmonicas I came back to the Special 20. A really great harp. They are popular and recommended by many because they really are that good.

Workhorse Harp

I've been using the Hohner Blues harp for years because I assumed it would be the best for rock/rockabilly/blues gigs but a friend turned me on to the Special model and it has far better response. The notes are cleaner and the notes tighter for quick soloing.

Great Harmonica
John Y. 08.11.2014
A bit more expensive than the usual starter harps but worth it. Easy to play great sound, well made, a fair price and a three year warranty. Whats not to like. Just what I wanted to ad a touch of Jimmy Reed - I wish but I will try-to my fretboard noodling.
