Hohner Marine Band Deluxe C

I bought this model after Blues Harp which is more mellow than Deluxe and not too noisy. Still I like Blues harp but in my opinion Deluxe has better sound projection. Also the comb looks better finished in Deluxe. Deluxe is a little bit easier to play, especially to do overblows. Very protective case.

I wanted to try this Harp as it came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. The pear wood comb gives it a nice tone and the harp is sweet sounding and easy to play. Bending notes is easy. I like the fact that the cover plates are screwed on instead of nailed on like the traditional marine band. Notes bend easy and it’s a great harp. It’s a Hohner.: well made and solid! Responsiveness, volume and bendabilty are, for me, excellent.

Where it really shines is the tone: this IS the blues harp sound.

At least I can have the tone of the 3 Sonnies and the rest :-)
