Practical and affordable with the right shape

It's a good gig case, safer than the gig bag. It's not the one you want to keep immaculate at home, but rather the one to transport your violin bass to your local gigs and rehearsals. You won't mind some scratches on it.

R
Beautiful looking but consider shelling out a bit more for something better made
Rhys 17.06.2013
I bought this case the day I bought my Hofner Igniton B-bass and was glad when it arrived. I opened up the bass first, naturally, and then moved on to the less important accesories. The case itself feels wonderful with a rough bumpy texture all across that can with stand the daily grind of a working musician. My own nag about the outside of the case is that it seems the outside covering is stuck down with horrifically sticky tape, but aesthetically, it fits the image. The three lock system is excellent for security. The case features 2 snap locks and one flip lock meaning that the case can't magically open itself and you can feel safe and secure knowing that your bass is safe and secure. Inside, protection wise, it is incredible. The entirety of the inside of the case is layered with a thick, soft textile coating meaning that the instrument inside can withstand knocks and scrapes. The part of the case that holds the body is extra thickly lines to make sure no blemish or markings transfer on to the instrument. Along where the neck lies is a small compartment in which you can store various different things such as picks, oils, cloths, strings and tuners. Fantastically handy.

All in all I think that it is made for the working, moving musician in mind.

J
Reasonable!
JXSM1991 30.10.2017
I bought this case for my hofner 66 violin bass. The bass came with the original bag, which is very cool and vintage, but does not protect the bass on the road.

I'm using this bass for gigs and I want to travel a lot with it so a proper case was mandatory.

The bass sets perfectly in the case and it is very light, but the case is very small and you can take that much more aside from the bass.

It seems to have been hand assembled, by the looks of some imperfections in the case. I'm also not sure that this case is so durable has other hardcases. In general, is a good purchase if you want a case to walk around, but it's reasonable if your looking for a hardcase to go on tour.

k
could be much better

To be honest this case isn't any good. The handle broke off, the case doesn't seem to close completely from the bottom. The num is pretty hard to unlock, the wheels are hard to spin. Case looks very good and elegant, but i think it doesn't protect guitar too good. I'm still going to use it anyway, but next time I will think about buying something different than Hofner case or any cheap build case.

Not bad for the money

This case does the job but it is generally a little flimsy so wouldn't take too much knocking around. Quite a snug fit so if you are using it for light use it's great but using it for gigging around venues etc I don't think it would last long.
