Used It with Ukulele - Does the Job, Great Value
StoningRolls 09.09.2021
I needed something to connect my soprano ukulele to the computer (for recording), and I realized this might be the cheapest way to do it, if I didn't want to use any external microphones.

The pickup is very easy to place (using the accompanying sticky blue-tac-like paste), and does the job as you'd expect. For the ukulele, I realize the optimal placement is NOT under the bridge, as acoustic guitar users suggest, but right below the sound hole.

Two IMPORTANT things to consider:
1) You'll need some sort of preamp. I plugged it to my Zoom G1X, and it works flawlessly (plus, I got some cool effects).
2) Be VERY careful with feedback. I stupidly turned my guitar amp toward myself while trying to play. The pickup... picks up sound, which above a certain volume can cause some massive feedback. Turn the speaker the other way around, lower the volume, or use headphones.

Other than that, not much to add. It's not professional-grade, but it definitely does the job.

A true surprise
Orfeo1608 24.02.2020
I use a lot of different instruments live, from lutes to flamenco guitars and much more. this is frankly a very good working way of amplifying acoustic instruments. It works fine. I suggest anyway to use a preamp to get a better sound.

Very warm and full sound
irzu.org 31.07.2024
I wouldnt use it on a full scale guitar, but for smaller guitalele style guitars, this gives a very round and full sound. Personally I am still fan of undersaddle piezos but this thing gives you much more full tone and it is loud. You dont need a preamp but you should boost trebles with EQ on your amp. I imagine on a full scale guitar this can get too loud, and boomy and can start feedback, but for "not so loud" guitars this is very good.

It's good emough for...
Parrotica 14.11.2020
This piece of gear is usable for just about any acoustic instrument, we tried violins, acoustic guitars, and for the hell of it we put it on an electric guitar. And it worked just fine, the sound quality is good, but the volume you can get trough it without a preamp is quite low if you do a folk jam gig, but other than that, I recommend it. Cheap and versatile, I say give it a shot.

HI
No complaints
Hank IV 16.11.2023
Needed something cheap and easy to aplify a banjo in band sessions. Got just that. Keeps falling off every now and then but that just adds to the live exprerience. Level of sound was surprisingly good for such low price.

The price quality
Vannpark 19.11.2021
I use it with an irish bouzouki and the sound is really correct for that price. Zero feedback. Also i use it with some percusions like thunder tube's and the sound is awesome.

Always in my bag in case I need to record an acoustic instrument
SergioKE 08.12.2022
Needed some time to find the sweet spot for the resonance, but I even got to amplify and use effects with my standard piano :) Nice sound, good price. Thinking of getting a spare, in case I accidentally brake it or loose it.

Not bad at all!
pepepe 19.12.2019
I bought this pick up for a back up for my acoustic guitar and it happened that I had a situation where I had to use it. On my Epiphone Masterbilt Deluxe electronics got busted on a gig and I placed the Harley Benton TrueTone T-20 right away on the body near the bridge. Just a bit of EQ and the guitar sounded not bad at all. I was really surprised what sound you can get from this 15 euro pickup. Once again, I wiil say BRAVO to the guys whoever are behind Harley Benton as this is not the first and not the last item I am buying from Harley Benton. Cheap stuff but trustful! Thanks Thomann!

Great drum trigger
Father Ted 21.08.2024
I feed 4 of these into a Roland TM-2 to trigger 4 different drum sounds using my foot. Works great but I do have to replace them every few months.

Great value
Sardonicus M 13.03.2020
I purchased this to amplify a saz I recently purchased from Thomann. It comes with a little pack of sticky stuff very much like blu tack. Once you get the placement correct, you get a great sound. Although this may depend on your instrument and of course the amplifier you are using.
All in all a great way to amplify an acoustic instrument with out permanent modification.
