Works as expected
GlockR 27.08.2019
Larger than expected which makes the process a little more awkward than necessary, but the ability to split the head attachement and use it on a hand drill (for example) more than makes up for that.

Solid construction.
Happy with it.

A convenient tool that can either be used manually or attached to a small drill to make work faster and easier. It is shaped so that it will fit different sizes and shapes of tuning machine. The notch for removing bridge pins is not very convenient though.

A
Essential tool for guitarists
Anonymous 03.01.2015
After being fed up with slow string changing, I finally ordered a speedwinder to do the time-consuming part of the process. I was first suspicious about the quality, but this cheap gadget turned out to be very solid and long-lasting. It is mainly made out of plastic, so it's also very light to carry with. The head is detachable and can be mounted on a power drill for quicker unwinding. However, the detaching of the head is a challenge, but the good thing about this is the head really isn't going to fall of accidentally. I would recommend the guitar techs to buy two of these, so you don't have to waste precious time when struggling to detach the head.

Other than that, this winder is a true all-arounder, and can be used on all sizes of string instrument tuners, all the way from mandolins to bass guitars. Also, the head piece is long enough to keep the winder from hitting the other tuners.

This HB speedwinder is a very durable piece of guitar equipment for your pocket money, and it really makes changing strings faster and more fun.

In the end, all winders are the same, and this is the cheapest option... just go with it!

saves time

Never having used one of these before they do save time, one setting fits my dquier affinity strat perfectly, the other setting my acoustic. i'm happy, it feels cheap as it is cheap, but it works just fine.

Good for standard tuners

If you use standard tuners, this will make winding and unwinding easier. A useful tool for the price!

Speedwinder, fast one.
Davor T. 02.01.2014
HB Speedwinder is an useful gadget, and helps me a lot when changing strings, either on my basses, or on guitars. It's head is cut to fit any standard winders.

To use it effectively, one should have the instruments fixed firmly, otherwise the Speedwinder might slip off the winder.

I give it four stars due to the fact that it is a bit hard to separate head from handle, when using it in a power drill for even faster unwinding of the strings.

Cheap but does its job
ShaunA 04.05.2015
If you're a 6-string bass player, or have multiple basses (or change strings often) like me, then this is a must-have, especially for the brilliant price. Knock off loads of time off your string change setup time, and with more ease.

Decent speedwinder
Mairts 11.12.2017
It's good enough for the money and does the job. I have a Squier strat and it's kind of wobbly with the tuners it has but it works better with my Taylor 110e tuners. Still overall better and faster than winding by hand.

Good winder
Muljko 23.01.2018
Good for most guitars.
Can be detached and put on hand drills for even faster string replacement.
Not suitable for all tuning pegs, not wide enough for one of my classical guitar tuning pegs.
