Powerful amp
FlyingIceNeedle 06.08.2021
I use this for my music session in the garage and i just need to turn the volume knob halfway and i'm having a blast.

What i like about this amp is that it has 2 channels 1 is better to use for clean and the other one for distortion, so it is good if you don't have pedals to be able to quickly switch channel in the middle of a song if you need to.
The clean channel surprised me with it's quality and smooth sound.
But on the other hand when you use high gain you get some noise coming from the amp when you are not playing,

I just bought Boss-GT 100 for a great price at thomann and i am going to see if i can fix that noise when i am playing with the gain from the effect but not the amp using the 4 cable method and the noise gate in the pedal.

I will get the effect in couple of days and i will update the review then.
***Update got the BOSS GT-100 for about a month now.
Got rid of the high gain buzz in the amp with or without the 4 cable method thanks to the noise gate in the multi effect. So it is doing very fine in the garage where i jam along another guitar and backing tracks.

Good value for the money

A clear sounding amplifier for all styles. Pretty heavy but worthwhile having. Sounds better than expected. AC noise present when driving impedance is moderately high (50-100KOhm), will investigate further on that.

Solid clean sound for a great price
Chilly-Dilly 08.06.2018
As usual, the Harley Benton brand is punching above its weight. This is by no means an amazing amp, but if all you're looking for is a loud amp with a good clean sound, this is the one. Having the 12" Celestion speaker is really nice, and it's not something any other companies (that I know of) could feasibly do at such a low price.

However, if you want a heavy metal tone, you're going to want something else. Personally, I'm thinking of getting the Revv G3 to go in front of the amp to solve this problem, but if you're not after the crazy metal distortion sound then it shouldn't be a problem for you.

TL,DR: Good clean sound for really cheap. Worth it.

Great If you are playing in a band for bars, pubs, private events it is perfect for
bringing it along being just the right size to fit inside your car or use in your studio office.
The power it has is just as good as any pro amp, plenty of volume enough to blow your ear drums out. Settings has what you need to perform and is very effective. It could use a delay, other than that I have no complaints, for the price it does what it was made to do. Cheer's

Awesome cheap amp (for cleans)
Rm87 10.11.2020
This amp has two channels. The channel 1 is good for crunch, It is relatively easy to get good tones out of it as long as it is set loud.

The secon channel is only good as a clean amp or a pedal platform. The gain sounds bad, but takes pedals greatly, thanks to the celestion speaker.

The included reverb is surprisingly good too. But this is NOT an amp for home use. This is loud.

J
A big and cheap amp
JoniT 22.11.2014
I bought this for home practice, with it I got a few distortion/overdrive pedals, because I knew that the distortion in this amp wouldn't be that good, but I haven't tried it... I just put it on clean and plugged the pedals in... So far I'm very pleased with the amp. At first I had some issues like the sound was really quiet, but that was my fault and I fixed it and now it works really good.

The features on this are really nice. Though I haven't touched the controls after the first day, because I'm doing everything on pedals.

There was one thing that really annoyed me though and it was that the headphone output comes before the FX loop... I had my reverbs and delays in my loop and one night when I wanted to play guitar, but everybody was sleeping, so I put on my headphones and I immediately noticed that the signal was dry with only the fx that I had put before the amp.

Other than that I do recommend this amp, as it is cheap and if you got pedals it sound good even.

Sensitive.
Peter R. 438 04.02.2023
A real beauty in every way, take me back to when musicians had total control of their sound, lots of knobs with various names for them, to when a slight move of the knobs made complete change to the sound, the HB80r is that guitar amp.
Internet downloads, "give me a break". This amp is the real thing and sure.
The slight prob is its sensitivity to the electricity supply, my house is 'out in the hills' electricity is pretty 'dirty', so I can't really use this amp at home because of this, I had a 'hi watt' years ago with the same prob, but at gigs, this HB80r is perfectly OK with town electric supply & rings like a bell, a big bell.
A superb machine for sure, ideal for mature P90 rockers like me.
1 year later.... so I reordered this amp, because I can't that "brute force" clean sound anywhere else, and I've tried quite a few, I don't need much distortion for my style of music, so this sound monster is perfect for me, not too big or heavy, plenty loud too.
Controls are basic and in your face easy with one foot switch. Perfect.
