I was looking for a decent'ish looking acoustic on a budget, something with bindings and a vintage traditional, vintage style sunburst.
I expected that the frets would need attention. They were pretty rough, and also needed leveling. But this is always typical of most guitars, even more expensive ones. These frets really could have done with a little more attention on the smoothing side though. The fretboard was also very dry.
There is a bit of a rough finish on the end of the neck where it meets the binding, almost like like it was cut with a blunt saw, the ends are slightly torn. A little filler would have been nice to fill in the small gaps here, but hey, I know, this is a cheap guitar.
The Sunburst wasn't quite what I'd hoped. Thomann's beautifully lit photos don't really show colours well. I was hoping for more yellow in the centre of the Sunburst, but it's really browny/orange.
The tuners have some rough edges on them on the chrome, but stay tuned well.
The sound is fine, nice and full, not trebley, just nice in the middle to lower register I'd say. Once adjusted, plays well.
As this was cheap, I've decided to redo the top finish myself, with a more yellow/orange to black burst for fun.
Good guitar for the price, I just wish Thomann would have better quality controls and pack their boxes slightly better.
