Gotoh SG301-04 MG-T Locking 3L/3R C

Bought these to replace the ageing Grover Kidney bean tuners on my Gibson Les Paul Standard. Guitar is 22 years old and the Grovers were suffering backlash. Anyway the Gotohs tick a lot of boxes, they are locking, and tuning stability is much improved, they were a direct replacement for the Grovers in terms of shape and size, screw holes all aligned and no drilling to do. The string posts do not protrude as much as the old ones but they don't need to as no string wraps required. The lower profile of the string post did not cause any other issues, intonation and performance are intact. I also prefer the tulip shape. They are quality make no mistake and look superb on this guitar. I'm delighted with them. Second time using Thomann, great service and choice, helpful staff. I will be back!
